Call drops immediately after connection

$
0
0

Since the last update I have noticed phone calls dropping after the line connects to the other called but within 1 to 3 seconds. This occurs on both outgoing and incoming calls.

My service is at 4 to 5 bars of 4gLTE. I have a Samsung S7 phone. Searches for dropped calls seemed were for during a call, but not immediately after connection and before conversation starts.  Restarting my phone sometimes fixes it, or 5 to 10 attempts. Makes for a very unhappy spouse.

Any tips or troubleshooting would be most appreciated!

Nexus 7 keeps rebooting in Canada

I have a Nexus 7 (2013) 2nd generation tablet with T-mobile One plan. Since our place is near Canada, we often go there for shopping, etc. As soon as we cross the border my Nexus 7 keeps rebooting every 5-10 minutes. It's supposed to be able to use data in Canada, but in order to use the internet there, I have to remove the sim card and connect public wifi. As long as the sim card is in it, even with the airplane mode, it keeps rebooting. I went to a T-mobile shop, and they gave me a brand new sim card to try, but it didn't work either. There is of course no problem when I'm in the US. I'd appreciate any help.

After a few years CellSpot went offline how do I get it working?

T-Mobile= poor customer service...

Not happy with T-Mobile... Has anyone else had this problem with T-Mobile and/or the store located at 1579 Monroe Dr. NE, suite G, Atlanta, GA 30324?

As a Veteran, I transferred my service to T-Mobile in May and bought the Samsung Galaxy S9 on the Veteran special. (coming from Verizon & Iphone 8)

BUT, I have had problems with the Samsung Galaxy S9 phone app freezing up with error messages and the touch screen becomes non-responsive.

I have rebooted the phone, performed factory hard resets, etc.  My phone is my business. I need it to work.

I called in and asked about the warranty. The customer service reps on the phone are very helpful and said they would send a replacement phone to my local  T-Mobile store for me to exchange free of charge. HOWEVER...  today I received a call from some angry woman at the local T-Mobile store telling me that the new replacement phone had arrived. "Great", I thought.

And then she started to threaten me that T-Mobile will charge me $799 in the future if they don't think my old phone had a problem.

I understand that there is probably lots of fraud in the warranty world, but this woman came across as angry, rude, threatening and completely turned me off to T-Mobile. She definitely demonstrated that she lacks Customer Service, Sales, and Diversity training at the corporate/retail level.

At this point, I will PAY T-Mobile as much money as they want and move to a new carrier and get another phone. I don't care if it costs me $1,000.00.

I plan to go to a new carrier and buy another Iphone 8. By the way, the T-Mobile cell coverage in many parts of Atlanta, Midtown, Morningside, Virginia Highland, Decatur, etc. is abysmal: constantly drops calls.

Switched S9 from Verizon to T-Mobile - Phone won't rebrand

$

BYOD from Verizon to T-Mobile.  I brought my S9 and my wife brought her S8+.  Lot long after the port-in process was complete, my wife's S8+ downloaded the T-Mobile app and the look/location of the status bar icons changed to the T-Mobile 'motif'; my phone hasn't changed at all.  When I go to update software, it was telling me my device was not authorized, but now it says the device is up to date.  However, the Verizon apps are still there and won't uninstall and the Service provider SW ver. is: SAOMC-SM-G960U_OYN_VZW_OO_0077 (notice the VZW) and the last line in that section reads: VZW/VZW/VZW.  My wife's phone has a last line of TMB/TMB/VZW (notice the TMB).

Called T-Mobile and got completely clueless reps that claim "once it's a Verizon phone, it's always a Verizon phone!"  Really?, then explain my wife's phone that I purchased from the same Verizon store a few months earlier.

The Samsung website says that once a new SIM is installed that the old provider software would be uninstalled and the new provider's software would be installed as long as it is an unlocked phone (mine is because I have T-Mobile service and if it's locked it would be SIM locked to Verizon and my service with T-Mobile wouldn't work).  Samsung's website even has a by-carrier list of the apps that are forced on you for your type of device.  So, I call Samsung.  They try everything they can: they assure me that my phone can be rebranded (duh, my wife's already is), they tell me to install SmartSwitch on my computer but it doesn't give me the option to update (even after a full phone backup), then he tells me to wait for the next firmware update and keep my fingers crossed.  Since when was "pray" added to the tech support flow charts?

It appears that those who get paid to help have no clue how, so now I'm turning to this community for assistance.  Any ideas on what else I can try?

Please enable two-factor authentication for logging into DIGITS

$
0
0

When will two-factor authentication (2FA) be available for logging in to DIGITS?

The ability to place calls and texts from your phone from any device is great! But doesn't it also create the risk that bad actors will try to use our phone numbers for fraud - by hacking into our DIGITS accounts from any connected device to place calls or texts in our names?

Enabling two-factor authentication would help us keep our phone numbers secure by adding a layer of security that would be harder for bad actors to bypass. The single phone number and password currently required to log in seems woefully insecure for giving someone access to send and receive phone calls from our phone numbers on any connected device.

I'm living in Spain right now and I bought an LG G4.  It worked perfectly in the states, but now I can't get it to use data in Spain.  The texts and calling work just fine but no data is getting transferred.  I keep getting the message that the APN settings are incorrect.  My Samsung Galaxy using roaming data just fine but for some reason this LG will not.  I've tried changing the APN settings but I feel like I'm not inputting the correct information.  I just need to know what to do to get this phone to use roaming data overseas.

Changing phone, but keeping the same account

this may seem like a silly question but this would be my first time changing phones using t-mobile

I have a lumia 635 that I bought from the Microsoft store (so I registered it and inserted the sim myself so I get use t-mobile's [first-time only] 30 dollar plan). it is great but my brother needs a phone since his zte phone is starting to fail him (phone-wise and service-wise. I also noticed that there is the 640 coming out, which I was planning to get via Microsoft store.

the question is how does the phone "upgrade" work? do I take out the sim from my old phone and put it in the new phone or do I set up the new phone, like the old one, with my existing account (which may give me an option to add new phone and/or replace the old phone)?

thank you

Delay receiving group text messages on iPhone 7+

I have been having trouble delay receiving (sometimes up to 12 hours and all the messages come in at once after the 12 hours) group text for a couple months.  This has been on going and I called Apple and T-Mobile for the last couple of months.  I changed out a new sim card.  My group text only includes 2 other people, one is an android phone on T-Mobile service and the other is an iPhone 7+ with Verizon service.  I restored my phone and still having the same issue.  I called T-Mobile and they keep creating trouble tickets and escalated to their engineers.  T-Mobile also did a purge on my account and still an issue.  Still they said they don't see anything wrong.  I contacted Apple and said it is on T-Mobile's end.  I have been a T-Mobile member for at least 12 years, I would hate to go to another provider.  But, what is the use of paying for a service that does not work.

Calls not forwarding to GV

Switched from ATT and brought my iPhone 7 Plus with me.  With ATT, all VM would go to Google Voice.  Since switching, even though I follow all the settings (at least thinking i do), my calls are still held locally.  I need to be able to get VM at my computer, when my phone is not accessible, hence the need for the GV option.  Any help or recommendations?

Example of what i need;

Phone is in car or even turned off or out of battery (dead).  Someone calls, i need their message to show up on my GV while logged into my Google account, where i am able to read and listen from the computer.  When on the phone, i use the GV app to retreive/read/listen.

Thanks.

I dont have access to my phone most of the day while at work.  Before switching from ATT, i was able to have two-way text conversations via email (gmail).

Now for example, i send 10digit#@tmomail.net a message from my gmail, they receive it however when they respond to it, it is going to my phone, which i dont have access to.  What settings or domain do i have incorrectly set?  I need responses sent back to the gmail account.

Light leaking from the edges of new Note 8s and bad experience with T-Mobile.

Hi, I joined T-Mobile not too long ago. Two of the new phones I ordered were the Samsung Galaxy Note 8s. After about two weeks of use, I noticed that on the sides of the phones where the curved edge display meets the frame of the phone, there are thin layers of light peeping through. I've searched the web for answers, and it seems to be a common problem found on many Note 8 units. Here are some sources:

There's no official answer from Samsung in addressing this other than saying it's "normal," which is total nonsense because not all devices are affected by this from what I've seen. The closest actual answer I've actually seen from a Samsung agent is calling it a delamination issue. I've seen a couple of devices that are near perfect and don't have this defect, which is particularly noticeable and annoying when you use your phone in dark settings or have the brightness turned up. It's unfair and totally unacceptable that owners like me have to put up with this annoyance when others don't. I don't blame T-Mobile for this since it's Samsung's fault for their poor quality control, but because I didn't notice this defect sooner and ordered my phones through T-Mobile's call in service as supposed to buying them from a store, T-Mobile overcomplicated my ability to replace or exchange my Note 8s (thanks for screwing over a new customer, T-Mobile). I've tried contacting T-Mobile Support on Twitter about this as well as calling T-Mobile's web and sales department at 1-800-672-5390. T-Force was a lot more helpful than the rude, overseas agent from India I spoke to who, mind you, was the fourth person I had to speak with on that same phone call, and spent half of our conversation screaming in my ear telling me she couldn't hear me when I could hear her crystal clear. She also went through with processing a return, which I specifically asked if she could refrain from doing, since I wanted to better consider my options, but nope.

After all of this, I still wasn't able to find a solution to my issue. I was told that doing a buyer's remorse and returning the phones I got and repurchasing them was my best option, which would mean that I have to wait at least two weeks with no phones before I could get new Note 8s, but since I have to purchase them again, it won't be under the same special pricing that I brought them for during December's Samsung BOGO.

I don't understand why I can't simply exchange them at a nearby T-Mobile store. Can someone from T-Mobile please explain this to me? I would really appreciate it. Because again, I feel really screwed over as a new customer.

Account Verification Process

So, I've had my account since Jan and have just recently changed it from a business account to a personal/soul proprietor account. The thing is my account was suspended shortly after for verification purposes and hasn't been reactivated since. I was told to verify by reporting to a T-mobile location with my id ( which I did ) with absolutley no resolution and no phone. That has been going on for three days and since it's staretd I've been in to 7 different stores sone of them 3-4 times faxing my info and social security info. Still after everything they have still yet to give a reason why i've been disrespected and lost in business and home life because I currently can't make any calls or anything even after verifying who I am.

Awful Replacement

$

I'm wondering if I should return my HTC Desire 626 after being sent an awful phone from 2014, the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.

My phones charging port was damaged, and so I went to a T-Mobile store where they directed me to a number, ensuring that my phone has insurance.

One swift delivery day later after calling, I received the replacement.

A few gripes about this 'upgrade'. For one, in the section in which it identifies itself under 'About', this phone is from 2014, though it looks fairly new, it works slower than my HTC Desire 626 did.

Loading anything takes almost a minute, this being with a lot of free storage space left after installing the few 'Lite' versions of essential texting apps, or downloading the updated version of Youtube.

Whenever music or video plays, it keeps stopping, as if I have bad WiFi. I tested the speed, as well as double checked my router settings, tested the internet speed on my game consoles, and also on my laptop and other phones.

It takes almost up to a minute to load any web page, or app, as if this phones reading speed is dial-up speed.

Basically, I was upgraded a 'down version' of my previous phone. The screen and phone overall is smaller compared to my HTC, it works much MUCH MUCH slower, lagging, breaking up media as if it can't read the content playing.

I often find myself locked out of my phone, as in, I can't even unlock it because every time I press the key to open up my lock screen, the screen freezes, then dims off, then does this every time I try to get into my phone, usually up to 12 times (I've counted), taking me up to 5 minutes to unlock the damn screen to get to what I need to do.

It's not about this particular phone (The Galaxy Core Prime) being faulty, it's the phone type itself. I've read of the many similar issues that others with this phone have had.

I often times don't receive texts, and if I do, the phone bugs out, even though I'm not using alternative versions to the default texting app.

Basically, my old HTC Desire 626 was replaced by an awful 'upgrade' phone by the name of Galaxy Core Prime, I hate it.

It's slow, it keeps bugging out, it doesn't work.

The replacement fee was $50, but regardless, I honestly don't want to hear a crap excuse that this is what I get for the price, because my older phone with a busted charging port was better than this piece of trash I was sent as replacement. Like, damn, am I being punished?

So yeah, what can I do? Because this whole warranty deal is crap if this is what I get as probably some cheap method to make me spend a large amount just to chuck this replacement in the damn trash.

I even had to post this as a public discussion, because even after the setup as per instructed, the trash replacement isn't receiving texts.

The majority of the people calling me get a busy signal even when I'm not on the phone.
