I have a Nexus 4 with data plan. Recently, I picked up two more Nexus 4 phones for my kids to use. They do not have data plans, and I have the family allowance plan on account to restrict their access to data (in fact, that is the only reason I am paying for this service). I confirmed with an online t-mobile rep prior to making this purchase that this set up would prevent unwanted charges for data.
However, my last phone bill was $80+ higher than expected, and t-mobile tells me that I'm being charged for kids' access to the internet in my own home. I pay Comcast for my wifi, so I'm mystified at why t-mobile would charge me as well. The t-mobile rep that I spoke with this morning says that she can prevent further charges from happening (I'm not convinced), but that she can't promise that the fees already incurred will be reversed.
How is this *not* a scam? Very confused!
