When I try to share the internet connection from my phone (Settings > Internet Sharing), I get a dialog stating the following:
Connection not shared
To enable tethering on this device, go to http://offers.t-mobile.com/tethering/upsell.do for the detail. You can also add it online at https://my.t-mobile.com under Manage > Plans and Services.
My data plan is Unlimited - Premium with Smartphone Mobile HotSpot Service, which explicitly states sharing my connection to up to five devices is supported. This has in fact worked, twice, but every other time I try I just get the above dialog. The upsell.do page prompts me to get a plan that supports this feature, which I already have, so it appears I'm getting prompted for an invalid plan change.
I am using an HTC 8x, My OS version is 8.0.10211.204, my firmware version is 1532.20.20004.531. I am aware that eventually the January 28th update will arrive (still waiting, no update is found when I check for updates on the phone), but it is not clear that the update will address issues with my data plan.
Is there a workaround available, or is there anything I need to do to get my account properly provisioned to use this feature?
Thanks
