New Line/Customer Pricing Vs upgrade pricing

Hi Everyone,  Before I ask my question, I figured I would post the type of service I have first

Family Plan with 500 Minutes   $49.99  -   Unlimited (5 Gig) Data plan & the $10 unlimited texting for all phones on plan.

Ok now here is the situation.  My contract for my line is coming up.  When I log into my account it says that I'm elegible for best upgrade pricing effective 8/25/12.   I get an email a couple of days ago that says "next month your elegable for our best pricing"

So if I wait until next month, my upgrade price will be even better then if I got something this month?  If so, is it usually a major difference?

The reason I ask if it's usually a major difference because I am looking at the Samsung S3.  I noticed the website shows the 32 gig version for $150 after all rebates, etc.  When I login to my account it shows the 16 gig version to be around $250 (after all the rebates/fees).  However if I wanted to add another line, I then could get the 32 gig version for $150.So my question is, why wouldn't someone just add another line to get the phone for cheaper & just cancel the original line on the day the contract was up, especially if there was only a month left on the contract for that line.
