I want to express my dissatisfaction with T-Mobile's recent promotion for the Galaxy III.
Last year during the Christmas holiday, T-Mobile advertised a promotion for the Galaxy III. It was stated that if you were to purchase the Galaxy III with a qualifying data plan, you would receive a rebate of $200. We went directly to a T-Mobile store and asked for clarification regarding the rebate. We were told that we would receive a rebate of $200 in the form of a Visa gift card in approximately 10 weeks. We were to call them if we did not receive the card after completing the rebate form. Well 12 weeks had passed by and I contacted T-Mobile, only to find out that I was not going to receive a rebate, but instead a bill credit. Apparently there was an overwhelming response to the promotion and they decided to issue the bill credits instead of rebate cards. They're able to cover their actions because unbeknownst to us, there is a tiny, small clause on the rebate form that states they have the right to change the offer to a bill credit (a bill credit YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE FOR 12 MONTHS). I told the customer service rep that is not what we were told, and basically they had misrepresented the promotion. My boyfriend is a nudge about details, and he grilled the T-Mobile counter reps prior to our purchase because it was the promotional deal that incited us to upgrade our phones.
Long story short, if you took advantage or thought you were taking advantage of the same promotional deal - do not hold your breath on your rebate card - but you can hold your breath on that bill credit.
