Turning off auto correct on Galaxy Note 2

One wifi network I have available to connect to requires a user name of format XXXXyyyy.  After typing in the user name with the first 4 characters capitalized and the last 4 lower case, Note 2 changes all characters to lower case when I move to the password entry line.  I have turned off predictive text, auto capatilize and auto punctuate on the Samsung keyboard settings uner the Language and Input tab.  I have also pasted in the correctly formatted username from the clipboard but Note 2 still makes all the characters lower case when I move away from the "password" input box.  What settings must I change to keep the phone from changing the capitalization from what I input?
