T-Mobile’s out-of-stocks have really gotten out of hand. My phone has been freezing, crashing, and demonstrating the other typical death throes of an old, well-used phone. After looking online and calling customer care, it seems T-Mobile is having some real inventory issues.
I wanted the HTC One since there is a trade in promo being offered at HTC’s website that expires on the 5th, although that date
may change. Of course, the phone is sold out. But I believe that $600 is too much for a phone anyway, so I considered the HTC One S since it is cheaper and received the Jelly Bean update. Sold out. Galaxy S4—sold out.
Here are the major phones that are either sold out or not listed for upgrade:
HTC One
Galaxy S4 (both models)
Galaxy S3 (both models)
Galaxy Note II Grey
All Windows phone except one Nokia refurb (ack!!)
LG Optimus 9
Blackberry Curve
And a few others….
There are at least a dozen phones not available to customers wanting to upgrade. Wow.
Forget asking where we can find an HTC One. Where can I find any phone? The T-Mobile stores in my area are experiencing similar problems and the other retailers either don’t service T-Mobile or charge very high prices for upgrades. According to a T-Mobile rep, some phones are ONLY available for new activations and add-a-lines. Since I only want an upgrade, I was advised to pay double the price at another retailer or “wait”. Since my contract is expired, I’m tempted to wait in line at a competitor and snag one of their HTC’s or Samsungs.
