I wonder how hard it'll be to get a T-Mo version SIM unlocked?

I plan on buying this at full retail from T-Mobile for my fiance, and she plans on using it on net10 (AT&T) until T-Mo gets 3G/4G/LTE in our area along with better coverage in the country at her relatives house.  Once that happens, the plan is to bring her onto my T-Mo plan (hence the need for the T-MO version).

Devices Purchased at Full Retail Price

If you paid full retail price for an eligible device:

  • T-Mobile will provide the SIM unlock code as long as:
    • Your T-Mobile account is in good standing; and
    • The device has been completely paid for (you must fax the proof of purchase to T-Mobile).

It sure seems relatively straight forward, but a recent roundabout in trying to get my (paid-off) ancient Moto V3t unlocked, I really don't hold out hope.

Oh, and my account is definitely in good standing (odd you'd need an account if you just bought a phone at full retail).

If this will be a huge hassle (which it probably will), then I may just go with the unlocked or dev version, and just stay with net10 without switching her back to T-Mobile in the future.
