First time use
When you first turn on your new device, you might see a setup wizard to help get you started. Take a look at the steps below to walk through the setup process.
- Make sure the battery and SIM card are inserted.
- At the Welcome screen, select your language and tap Next.
- Select or set up a Wi-Fi network. If a Wi-Fi network is not available, tap Skip.
- Sign in or create a new Google account.
- Tap Accept to agree to Google's Terms of Service.
- Choose to restore your device from a previous backup or set up as a new device.
- Tap Next.
- To protect your phone, tap SET SCREEN LOCK NOW.
- Select from the following:
- Pattern
- PIN
- Password
- Enter your pattern, PIN or password.
- Tap Next.
- Confirm your patter, PIN or password.
- Select from the following notification security:
- Show all notification content
- Hide sensitive notification content
- Don't show notifications at all
- Tap Next.
- View Google's services, tap More to scroll down.
- Tap Next.
- Check or Un-check to allow T-Mobile to collect Diagnostic data.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Accept / Decline to T-Mobile's Connection Assistant.
- Tap Accept / Decline to T-Mobile's special offers.
- Your device is now ready for use.
Transferring data
