Continuing the discussion from :
In case you missed lines my original post, I have my credit report from all the bureaus and the information is reported correctly. I have also verified it with transunion on call. And according to transunion, they do not generate or verify any sort of multiple choice identity verification questions.
And here is the interesting sequence of events that happened:
5/16 : Person from Tmobile customer service asks me to fax my SSN card and Drivers license to Risk Assessment from a tmobile store.
5/17: I went to Tmobile store and faxed both the documents, Was told that someone will contact in 24-48 hrs.
Ofcourse no one contacts!!!
5/22: I called Tmobile Risk Assessment to ask the status. My call was transferred from Risk Assessment > Activations > Consumer Credit. Person from consumer credit said that my documents are processed and I need to go to tmobile store and ask them to call the Consumer Credit and give the dealer information. Once I do that I should be able to get the phone, as I am all "good to go".
After 30-60 mins : Went to store and Tmobile store rep called consumer credit (CC)
CC rep : Did not know anything about my faxed documents and said nothing can be done. He/She said they do not ask consumers to fax documents. (Tmbile rep had asked me to do that, and a person from tmobile store had actually agreed on the process and faxed it. We are not talking about any random paperwork here. Its SSN card and Driver's license). Next the person says no one has spoken to me that day from tmobile. I had to show store rep call logs on my cell phone, then the CC rep on phone agreed that someone did talk. But this call was of no help, it was just Misguidance and Lies.
Now the store rep called Risk Assessment to find out what happened. They say they dont deal with these cases its consumer credit and was insisting on talking to them again.
At this point store rep said he cannot do anything and I could call consumer credit again.
1. Why was I asked to fax my identity documents when it was not necessary, to a dept that doesnt deal with these issues?
2. How come the store rep who faxed the docs, agreed on the process of faxing the docs to the particular dept, and even said i'll hear back in 24 -48 hrs?
3. How is it that on phone the CC rep said I am all good to go, I just need to go to store and ask the store rep to make a call and verify, and I hear a whole new story at store?
4. Does TMobile has a process for requesting sensitive identity document?? or is it requested at will of the rep?
5. How can I get recordings of all my calls? I am concerned that I was misguided and all my identity information (SSN/DOB/even copies of documents etc) has been stolen and might be misused in future.
Guys BEWARE Tmobile asking to fax sensitive documents unnecessarily!!!!!!
