I am a truck driver. Truck driving and mobile, high speed broadband don't mix well.
Especially if you use a lot of data on the go. I basically live in my truck & use quite a bit of data. I'm looking for an alternative.
I'm currently a Verizon customer, but I don't like it. I'm not a fan of any of the major Wireless / ISP oligopoly members.
That said, let's take just one of my heavy data users: Netflix
One movie is about 1Gb to 2Gb per hour of streaming. Youtube, Hulu, Vimeo, online gaming also require heavy data.
But just Netflix alone is quite a bit of data per month. That said, I'm pretty sure I need unlimited data.
I probably won't use more than 15gb to 25gb per month, but I want the freedom to not worry.
My Goal:
-Unlimited data (also unlimited talk / text like I have with Verizon right now)
-A mobile hotspot (if available) to increase my speed (if my "Galaxy Note 2" phone can't do it already)
-at least 5 mbps dl speeds in rural areas (3g or 4g)
-up to 10-20 mbps dl speeds in city areas on 4g
-Nationwide data coverage no matter where I'm at
-Absolutley NO dead areas for phone calling. My work depends on being able to take calls nationwide.
-2 Family Lines. One for me & one for my Dad (we're both truck drivers)
2 year contract is acceptable if I can get the above promised to me.
Is there a plan for this? I don't see it on the website. It seems like if you choose mobile hotspot, then you're limited to 5gb or 10gb.
That won't work for me & I really want a Mifi device. I could just use my Galaxy Note 2 as the hotspot assuming the speed is at least 5 mbps dl. Other customers tried this method? T-mobile, what are my options. My contract with Verizon is up in 3 months.
I would need to see what the cost is...
but if T-mobile can promise & deliver what is mentioned above, you have yourself a customer
Goodbye Verizon!! Other T-mobile customers, if you have any suggestions or comments, I would appreciate your input.
