With the Nokia Lumia 521, one of the following may occur:
- Phone will not charge properly.
- Phone battery has capacity issues.
- Phone does not power on.
The device may have an issue not charging. Typically you can see a charging indicator on screen but after long period of charging phone can’t be booted up as expected.
Cause
Some potential causes of this issue are:
- Phone may have bent leads on the battery.
- Not allowing sufficient time for phone to react to a battery change.
- Phone not allowed sufficient time to charge fully.
Resolution
To fix these Nokia Lumia 521 power issues, follow these steps:
- Open back cover
- Remove battery
- Check the condition of battery connector inside battery.
- If VBAT contact pins are bent, connection between battery and phone is poor and it may cause charging issues.
Replace the battery with new one.
Note: Attempting to bend or repair VBAT pins is not recommended. - Ensure you remove and insert battery in right direction as instructed in user guide to avoid this issue to happen again.
- If the issue persists and the battery is not damaged, complete basic troubleshooting for device won’t take a charge
