Turn off developer options

Developer options are off and hidden by default in the iPad. Developer software is required to gain access.

Change language

To change the language of the device and menus, follow these steps:

1. From the main home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap International.
4. Tap Language.
5. Choose your desired language.

Prepare the SIM card

Before using the device, you need to insert the SIM card. To prepare the SIM card, see these steps:

Setup wizard

After turning on your device the first time, you may see a setup wizard to help you set up your device. To do this initial setup, follow these steps:

1. Power on the device.
2. Slide your finger to the right on the screen to begin.
3. Select your language from the list.
4. Select your country / region from the list.
5. Choose a Wi-Fi network and, if prompted, enter the password then tap Join.
   • If Wi-Fi is not available, tap Use Cellular Connection.
6. Choose to enable or disable location services and tap Next.
7. Choose one of the following and tap Next:
   • Set Up as New iPad
   • Restore from iCloud Backup
   • Restore from iTunes Backup.
8. Follow the onscreen instructions to create / sign into an Apple ID, sign into iCloud, or connect to your computer.

Auto-update time (NITZ)

To set the device clock to automatically update based on what time zone it is in, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap Date & Time.
4. Drag the Set Automatically slider to ON or OFF.

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap Date & Time.
4. Drag the Set Automatically slider to OFF.
5. Tap Set Date & Time.
6. Tap the date showing on the top half of the screen.
7. Drag the roller to the desired time.
8. Press the Home button.

Time

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
2. Tap General.
3. Tap Date & Time.
4. Drag the Set Automatically slider to OFF.
5. Tap Set Date & Time.
6. Tap the time showing on the top half of the screen.
7. Drag the roller to the desired time.
8. Press the Home button.
