Hi there,

I am trying to figure out which band frequency are needed for a non-T-Mobile phone to be connected to T-Mobile 3G, at least, or even better, 4G. I did some research, but results vary.

* At the end of this doc on official website, it says 1700Mhz is needed for 3G service. (http://explore.t-mobile.com/phone-sim-card/phone-check/sim)

* This doc in this forum suggests BOTH 1700 & 2100 band are needed to access "3G/4G network". (http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1265)

* I did not find "official" page in TMO website but it is already widely believe that TMO is working at bring 3G service to the 1900Mhz band. (http://gigaom.com/2012/12/06/t-mobile-ceo-confirms-the-iphone-and-the-death-of-phone-subsidies/)

So, in short, if I gonna bring a non-T-Mobile phone onboard, what is my best chance to have data service at 3G speed? Do I need to locate any one or all of these "HSDPA 1700 / 1900 / 2100" in the phone spec?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Ray
