Hello All,
Got my hands on a Cel-Fi unit to borrow from a friend who got it from T-Mobile--- to see if it was worth buying (since I dont qualify,
and it;s $525!) Anyway....
I've had the unit set up for a few days now. Went out and bought a long pipe to mount the window unit higher
since im in a second floor apartment, I was able to get the window unit to show 4 bars with this method up from 3.
Due to the space of the apartment I'm only able to acheive a 6-7 on the coverage unit. --- 4G coverage was amazing!
Suddenly....
I notice that my phone is on EDGE network.
I walk over to the coverage unit (E1)
Which means there is no signal coming from the window unit.
-- Troubleshooting says move window unit, powercycle, etc (I'm fairly technical)
-- None of this worked, I can't even see bars on the window unit anymore
I have verified the presence of 4G coverage as I had my phone by the window, and YES, I was getting 1-2 bars 4G.
-- I was also able to make calls on it as well.
After a few powercycles... The window unit powers up, the status light flashes for a bit, and usually the green signal
bars are supposed to come on, but they dont. After about a minute the light stops flashing, and only one steady green
light stays on for the power I believe.
Both of these pieces of equipment have had their proper ventilation and have not overheated and are in more than an optimal
environment in terms of cooling and temperature.
My questions are:
What could cause this?
**I noticed in the Cel-Fi (Nextivity) white papers, that the unit has a feature to respond to operator commands
for remote shutdown, or network blocking**
Could this be the case in my situation?
