After a visit to a T-Mobile store (they gave me a new sim) and when that failed a very long call to technical support, I was assured that the Samsung GS3 does not support Mobilelife contact storage and restoration, even though many changes I have made recently have also synced with the online contact list within Mobilelife. I was told that there is no way to transfer the contacts back to the phone without typing each contact in individually. I was completely assured that (pardon the caps) THE GS3 DOES NOT SUPPORT MOBILELIFE AND THERE IS NO OTHER BACKUP FEATURE FOR THE GS3. IN OTHER WORDS, CONTACTS ARE NOT BACKED UP IN ANY WAY.
Here is what happened today:
I had been using the sync feature of the phone on the settings page, and it was nice to be notified when an email came through, but what was also happening was that if I had a contact on my phone (for example, Jim), and if Jim was in my Gmail address book and my Linkedin contacts, I would suddenly have a total of 3 contacts in my phone book for Jim. Consequently, I disabled Mobilelife on my phone (even though T-Mobile says that I didn't have any sort of Mobilelife screen) and then my roughly 218 contacts shrunk down to 28, and nothing I have tried will restore those contacts to my phone. And neither can I get back the Mobilelife screen that seemed to have started this whole problem.
Is there any way to put the online contacts back onto my phone? Is there any way to back up contacts for the future?
