Hello all,
I switched to T-mobile in late January. Coming from Sprint, I wanted to take advantage of T-mobile's "break-up" promotion where I port my number to T-mobile, subscribe to a simple choice plan, and trade in my old Sprint, where afterwards, T-Mobile would later reimburse my Sprint ETF. I have done all that except trade in my old device.
The issue is that apparently I cannot trade in my device because I did not switch by doing the whole process in a store. Instead I did it online. When I talked to a T-Mobile representative over the phone an explained to her this exact problem, she told me that I could take my phone into a store and do a "mail-in trade". She even put a note on my account. Still, when I talk to sales associates at the stores close to me, they tell me that they can't help me because of that reason: I didn't open my account at a store.
Having already submitted my last Sprint bill with the ETF online, all that is holding up my reimbursement is trying to trade in my device. It's a little frustrating that no one can seem to help me. I thought it would really be as simple as putting my phone in a box and shipping it. If I can get an RMA code, I would have no problem doing so.
I love my T-mobile service so far, and this process of trading in my phone is the only blemish. Please help!
Thanks
