Have to wait 18 months to get a cell booster?

I joined tmobile again after 5 years figuring progress must have been made in that time.  I actually get a little signal in the house now so I don't have to stand on my porch to make calls.  The signal though is weak and ranges between 0-3 bars on the phone depending on how the wind is blowing.

Obviously since we have X amount of days to return and cancel service, I need to sort it out before then.  Common sense right?  I was told at the tmobile store that if I couldn't get signal, they would send a booster.  I called today and they tell me the account has to be opened for 18 months before I can get a booster.  What am I supposed to do?  Get another cell phone contract for 18 months, pay both contracts and wait for tmobile to send a signal generator?  Maybe they could add a tower to cover the huge residential area that is missing coverage where I live.  That would be much cheaper than sending a signal booster out right?

And is anyone else frustrated with calling India?  From now on I'm just hanging up if I get connected to India.
