[LOS] Frequent signal loss - Nexus 4

Hey all,

I've been having a lot of signal issues on my Nexus 4 (and my Galaxy Nexus for a few weeks prior to getting my N4).

At work, where the signal is pretty bad to begin with, it will often go from one or two bars to complete LOS during which I cannot text, make calls, or browse the web. Eventually (anywhere from 15 sec to 2 minutes) it gets signal back. While this is happening most frequently at my workplace (which has adequate coverage according to the rep on the phone), I have seen it happen a few times in areas with full signal.

I'm located in South Bay Area (San Jose) and thought it might have something to do with T-Mo's ongoing 1900mhz refarm but am not so sure anymore. The issue began cropping up a little more than a month ago on my Galaxy Nexus and is now continuing on my Nexus 4. Prior to that, I had no problems..

My coworkers are experiencing the same thing - one of them on an HTC 8x and another on a Galaxy Nexus.

We have a thread going on XDA about this, there are a lot of people reporting similar problems.

ps. I remember having the same issue on my Samsung Galaxy S II a long time ago, where it turned out that the phone was not able to hand off between 4g, 3g, and Edge properly. A baseband update fixed it then - is there perhaps a newer baseband/radio we can use for the Nexus 4 as well? I'm currently on M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.33
