T-Mobile is incompetent.
I have a Family Plan with 4 numbers. My daughter has a pre-paid plan. We decided to add her, and her number to our Family Plan. So that involves 3 steps (not necessarily in this order):
1. Shutdown her pre-paid plan
2. Add her to out family plan
3. Transfer her number from the pre-paid to the family plan
I went to a T-Mobile store to do this on Thursday. As of this morning, NOTHING has happened. When I called T-Mobile (post-pay), they told me the holdup was that the pre-paid plan had not been canceled yet, so they could not start the process. They told me I needed to contact the pre-paid folks to get the pre-paid plan shutdown. They transferred me. Note that in the transfer (and subsequent additional wait time), the call volume went down about 6 dB. So I had troubles hearing the pre-paid person.
When I talked to the pre-paid person, they told me I DIDN'T need to have the pre-paid plan canceled first. What I needed to do was talk to the people in a third department (line adding?). When the pre-paid person transferred me to the line adding department, the sound level went down an additional 6 dB.
So to hear the person, I and she had to SHOUT. Then I hear that it was turned in (the transfer of my daughter's pre-paid number to my family plan), only it had not been turned in until Friday night. So the T-Mobile store didn't turn in the paperwork for over 24 hours.
So now I have to wait an additional 48+ hours before I can call bakc and complain that they STILL have not done the transfer.
