I just signed up for the T-Mobile Monthly 4G ($30 - 100 Min, 5GB Data and unlimited Texting) for my LG Nexus 4. This phone is capable of getting HSPA+ speeds. But I am getting really slow data connection in an area with Excellent coverage and full bars on my phone.
I checked the coverage maps for Monthly4G and at my home and office it shows as Dark Green for Excellent data coverage. And on my cell phone reception I have all (full) bars with the "H" next to it showing there is HSPA+ coverage.
You can see when entering my work address into the Prepaid Coverage Map I have Excellent Data Coverage at my location.

When I do data speed tests using the "Speed Test" app I am getting, under 1Mbps (0.70 - 0.80 Mbps) for Download speed and just over 1Mbps (1.2Mbps) for Upload speed. It's not like the app is showing wrong information because my webpages in any browser app loads pages really slow, and downloading apps take a while too (a 1.5 MB app took a couple of minutes to download with full bars).
I have called T-Mobile about it and the person wasn't very knowledgeable to help me out. I tried taking out the SIM card, and turning off the phone and then turning it on then putting the SIM back in and that didn't help.
Why am getting such slow speeds?
Should I change my APN settings? When I put my SIM card in there was already a T-Mobile APN setting there. Are there better settings for me to get better speeds?
Thank you in advance for any help.
