My HTC 8X randomly (while screen is OFF) seems to drop service. During the times when service is dropped, no SMS arrives, no Phone calls get through to my phone (I know because I called it at those times, and call went immediately to voicemail).
This happens even when I have 4G with 4 bars of signal strength.
Once I wake up the phone, I first see the 'No service' Icon, and then it reconnects to the service.
Do I have a defective unit? Or is this a known software issue with WP8? Or is this a known hardware issue with the 8X?
