Router placement

You should place your wireless router in a centralized area. Placing the router in a central location provides maximum wireless coverage.

To prevent signal loss or interference, you'll want to keep your router away from:

  • Devices using 2.4GHz or 20MHz, or devices that use Wi-Fi frequencies like bluetooth devices and cordless phones
  • Appliances like microwave ovens or refrigerators
  • Direct sunlight or fluorescent lights
  • Industrial equipment like transformers or heavy-duty motors

First-time setup

  1. If you already have a Wi-Fi router, unplug its Ethernet connection to your modem.
  2. Attach the three antennas to the top of your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
  3. Plug one end of the included Ethernet cable into the modem.
  4. Plug the other end into the blue port on the back of the router.
  5. Unplug power to your modem for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  6. Plug the power cord into your router.
  7. Wait about 1 minute until the blue indicator lights on router are solid. Once blue lights are solid, your network is set up and the router is ready to use.

Connect to the router from your phone

  1. On your phone, turn on Wi-Fi. For steps, check the how-to guides for your device on the Phones page.
  2. Select one of the T-Mobile Wi-Fi networks:
    • CellSpot_2.4GHz_(4-digit ID)
    • CellSpot_5GHz_(4-digit ID)
  3. Enter the password found on the white sticker on the back of your router.
  4. You will need to update the network name and password on all of your existing computer components (computers, tablets, etc.).

Add the router to an existing network

You can replace your previous router with the Wi-Fi CellSpot Router by matching your CellSpot Wi-Fi network name and password to your former network.

To add the router to an existing network:

  1. Make sure you're connected to your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
  2. Enter http://cellspot.router in your phone’s web browser. Keep in mind, the default username is admin and password is password.
    • From the General Tab, select the CellSpot_5GHz_(4-digit  ID) and change it to your previous network name.
    • Update the WPA Pre-Shared Key to your previous network password.
    • Click Apply.

Set up a cascading network with the router

Follow these steps if you have a modem/router combo unit or do not want to change network names on your existing equipment.

To set up a cascading network with the router:

    1. If you have a Wi-Fi router, unplug its Ethernet connection to your modem.
    2. Attach the three antennas to the top of your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    3. Plug one end of the included blue Ethernet cable into the modem.
    4. Plug the other end into the blue port on the back of the Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    5. Plug in the power cord to your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    6. Wait about one minute until the blue indicator lights on the Wi-Fi CellSpot Router are solid.
    7. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the yellow internet port and the other to the modem port on your existing router.

    Change the network name (SSID)

    1. Connect to your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    2. Enter http://cellspot.router in your phone’s web browser. Keep in mind, the default username is admin and password is password.
    3. From the General Tab, select the CellSpot_5GHz_(4-digit  ID) and change it to a desired name.
    4. Update the WPA Pre-Shared Key to your previous network password.
    5. Click Apply.
    6. Reconnect devices to the Wi-Fi network. Remember to use the 2.4GHz band if connecting existing devices (printers, cameras, etc).

I fully charged my LG G2 to 100% using a camera USB cord, which I've done before. I unplugged it and was able to use it. I put it down for about 5 minutes and when I tried using it again it wouldn't turn on. I tried plugging it into an actual phone charger and nothing happened, not even the LED light turned on. I tired plugging it into to my laptop and nothing happened. I tried holding the power button down and nothing happened, I tried holding the power button down while holding down the volume down button and still nothing. My phone looks completely dead, it's cold and lifeless, Normally I'd go straight to the store, but I won't be able to for another 2 days because the primary person on my contract won't be able to go with me until then. So whats wrong with my phone??

Has anyone had service issues after the 5.0 update?  Even when I have bars I can't receive incoming calls or send SMS messages.  Was fine until the update.  Tried everything including factory reset and swapping out SIM cards.  Getting a replacement phone sent today but wondering if I should just hold off updating the new phone.

I just installed the new update for my LG G2 and now my phone froze.  It is stuck on a black screen with the new buttons at the bottom and the regular stuff on the top of my screen.  However, I can not click anything or access my home screen.  I can't even turn my phone off.  I can hold down the power button but not click the button to shut it off.  Please help. Thank you.

LG G2's return w/ cracked screen?

Today, I was being clumsy and I dropped my phone down a flight of stars. The screen is cracked and the side is ajar. The screen is unresponsive but the back buttons are functional. I do not have insurance for this phone. I got my G2 4 days ago. Is there a way that I could send this and they would replace it? If yes, what steps should I take in sending it back? Also, would I get a refurbished phone or a brand-new unit as this phone didn't come with a defect.

    Thank you.

    Why no VoLTE?

*VoLTE = Voice over LTE. This allows the user to maintain and use an LTE signal for the fastest data speeds while on phone calls.

It honestly makes me very disappointed with T-Mobile. I feel so let down
when I just cannot, for the life of me, understand why it was not included with the update? First, the LG G2 has capable hardware for VoLTE. Second, the Android Lollipop update allows VoLTE. Your competitor, Verizon has it’s G2 with VoLTE and even on a slightly earlier version of Lollipop. I just don’t understand. I just can’t figure out why, and honestly, the only reason I can think of, I don’t even want to believe… that someone wants to push me into an upgrade when I have a perfectly capable, high performance device.

VoLTE is so important to me. The reason why: when making a call on the recently converted from 2G to 4G LTE towers, which are ever so greatly appreciated by the way, the phone drops down to a 2G signal. This renders the hotspot and browsing almost useless. It wouldn’t be such a problem, except that I also run a computer from my hotspot. More importantly, it can take anywhere from 1 – 30 minutes to regain 4G LTE and fast web. If I had VoLTE, then I wouldn’t have to worry about these things, as the speeds during calls would remain at LTE speeds and connectivity.

Is there anything in the works about a small update or patch to get the VoLTE this phone is capable of and so deserves?

I have been trying to unlock my S6 Edge over the last 10 days and still the team haven't been able to do it...

I have contact the customer and technical support team more than 20 times, all of them tell me that I'm already eligible to unlock my device but when I hit the permanent unlock in the app I receive a message that I'm not eligible for unlock.

I have raised this issue 4 times, ALWAYS WITH THE SAME RESPONSE, that there is no way to contact the unlock department, it can only be escalated via email... After 24h I receive an email with the instructions to unlock (like if I was stupid) and of course nothing have changed.

Below all the references, I really need someone to contact me and help me to unlock my device. I'm trying to unlock from outside the US via WIFI, according to all the team members that shouldn't be an issue because you can do permanent unlock via WIFI.

I need your urgent help on this one, I'm outside the US and will be like this for 3 months, I need to use my phone!!!
