Title says it all. Really, if I'm going to use my beta line, I will most likely keep the number and would prefer a local area code.

Thank you!

Messages not sending from Primary Phone to other T-Mobile customers since this morning!

I'll preface by stating that I have over 18 years of IT and Telecommunications experience, including cellular network deployment.

Setup Details:

2 numbers on account - primary phone and Gear S2 Classic

DIGITS registered for primary phone

DIGITS app installed on one other device and linked to primary phone # for testing

Description of Behavior:

Starting this morning, when sending texts to other T-Mobile numbers (not on my account), the texts show as sent on primary phone and show up in the DIGITS app on the other device, but are NEVER received by the recipient. Texts sent from DIGITS app on other device are not being received, either. Texts to other carrier destined numbers are delivered without issue. All texts are being received in DIGITS and on primary phone, regardless of originating sender carrier. ALSO, sending a text from primary phone or DIGITS app to the primary phone number (a "loop-back" test, if you will) results in the message never being received on primary phone but IS received on the DIGITS app. In short, texts from my primary # via any method outbound to, specifically, another T-Mobile number are never received. All inbound texts and outbound to other carriers are working fine.

Diagnostic Steps Taken:

Sent test texts from...Google Voice to T-Mobile recipient (success), Google Voice to Primary # (success), Primary # to T-Mobile recipient (failed, sent but never received), Primary # to non-T-Mobile recipient (success), DIGITS app to T-Mobile recipient (failed, sent but never received), Primary # to Primary # "loop-back" (failed, messaging app says delivered, but never received on Primary phone, IS received in DIGITS app). Deactivated/removed DIGITS app from other device.

I see mention in other posts that re-provisioning is being done across some accounts that were not previously setup properly. Since this problem started this morning, I'm curious to know if I was included in this re-provisioning. Texts to other T-Mobile numbers were working as recently as last evening around this time.

Combining this with some seriously lacking features/design elements in the DIGITS app, I'm beginning to regret participating in this "beta" that, as another poster put it, is more like an "alpha" when it comes to stability. I'll give this no more than 12 hours to be worked out, then I will be requesting removal from the beta and restoration of my services as they were before opting in. This kind of major upset to basic services simply shouldn't be happening in a "beta" phase. If I put out "features" this buggy in my apps, I'd be out of business!

Using digits on my pixel xl and gear s3. I don't receive texts on gear s3 and i can't make a call using gear s3. Why?

Calls from secondary phone should mask it's real number and show primary digits number

One phone multiple devices:  When I called from my secondary phone using the SIM sent to me by T-Mobile I noticed the following:

  • Receiving caller's phone caller ID showed my new number provided by the SIM  sent by T-Mobile DIGITS
  • I think only DIGITS Primary number should be displayed when calling from secondary phone.  If not then it is like having two numbers. One your original or primary number and second assigned by DIGITS.  When someone calls primary number it gets forwarded to Digits secondary number.
  • If T-Mobile can somehow hide the number assigned by DIGITS and only show Primary number from all phones using DIGITS SIMS then it will make more sense.  Receiving parties won't have to memorize DIGTS assigned 2nd line number.  Also they won't use this number for calling back.

Burnt screen

I was just wondering, (because Iv'e never had this happen to me before) If you watch to much You Tube video's without full screen inserted, the lower half of the screen can burn into the main screen because it never moves while video is playing?

I have the newer Galaxy S7 and soon afterwards I notice a line near the middle of the screen that showed up one day soon after I bought the phone. Because Youtube does'nt allow for screen to darken while playing video's, could this be the reason why part of my screen is partially darker at the bottom half and not at the top? I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else and is it covered under  warranty?

Also, I don't like to always leave my "Location" on so I turn it off. So... How come everything I look up on web all result in me being in Philadelphia Pa??? I live in Cleveland Ohio. I'm sure the phone should know this, being I bought it here.

Thanks for feed back.

Has anyone received their trade up e-check? Mine says approved since 10/24 and to expect it within 2-3 weeks on the promo tracker. Almost 5 weeks later, still stuck on approved.

Zip Code 2332

I am a third party customer of T-Mobile in NC. zip code 2332, I also coach many of my community seniors of technology though our country club.  We live in a gated community called "Carolina Trace" with a population of about 4,000 people.  I cannot recommend your service to my community neighbors though due to the poor coverage in our area.  Our community is fairly hilly so there are numerous dead spots even when outside and the signal is so weak that going inside most homes put's you in a dead zone also unless you have a wifi enabled phone like mine.  I highly encourage you to analyze our true signal reception because your map is not accurate.  If you wish access to our community to verify my complaint you may contact me and I will arrange a gate pass for your technician.

When I was using another phone with my 3rd party (Republic Wireless) the phone was on the Sprint backbone and that service was noticeably better than what I am getting now.  I like your company model and for disrupting the cellular phone market I applaud you.....please investigate the signal strength in our area, there is even a large cell tower across the highway from us!

Contact names in the web interface of the Digits beta have a %20 instead of space.  I assume this is the case with any non url safe character.  The interface should replace these escaped letter with the actual characters.

Quick overview after coming from Google Voice

Hi Gang,

I just want to give some clarification to some basic things regarding One Number for Multiple Devices.  These were issues I could not get a strait answer on before using DIGITS myself.

1.  One number for multiple devices using the DIGITS app.  This is exactly like GV - you download the digits app to as many devices as you want and use the app for receiving and making calls and texts.  All devices with the app will ring on incoming calls, display your number on outgoing calls, and sync your text messages.  The disadvantage to this is you cannot use your native dialer or message app, you have to use the DIGITS app.  This works exactly like GV and even uses a random server number for outgoing calls just like GV (but displays your number on the other persons caller id).  It works very well and enables you to use your main phone number wherever you want.

2.  One number for multiple devices using a Duplicate SIM card.  This is just a simpler way to use your main phone number with multiple phones.  It's just a duplicate SIM and its awesome.  You can take your Android phone one day and your iPhone the next day (you can also do this with the above method).  They both have the same SIM card (virtually speaking) so you can use your native dialer and text messaging app (although you should shut off iMessage for now and just use the Apple message app in standalone mode).  It's brilliantly simple and works great.  The only disadvantage to doing it this way is your text messages are not synced between your phones (unless you simultaneously use the DIGITS app but that defeats the simplicity of having duplicate SIM cards).

3.  Remember with the Duplicate SIM method you do not need an additional phone line with T-Mo.  It's just a second SIM card so you don't have to take the SIM out of one phone and switch it when you decide you want to carry a different phone.  So you can have an Android phone and an iPhone to play with but your only paying for a single line (there will be a fee for this after BETA is over but no one knows how much).

4.  With either method it appears you get HD voice, wifi calling, and all the other carrier features that you don't get with GV.  So far I'm absolutely thrilled with DIGITS!

How can I leave the beta program?

Anyone know how I can leave the beta program?  I called support and they said they'd email me a link, but the links are for signing up and general info, not removing a line.  In the "My Digits" area of my account, it explicitly says I cannot remove my line.  So, I guess somebody on the Digits beta team needs to remove me manually?

Can you use DIGITS to roam internationally with the Gear S3?

I have a Samsung S7 Edge using DIGITS beta (Duplicate Line) with a Gear S3 and Computer (via web browser).  When I travel internationally (i.e. London), when my Gear S3 is not connected to my S7 Edge via Bluetooth and is connected using LTE/3G, will it still receive calls and sms texts on my S7 Edge's phone number? Also, will LTE/3G data work so I can continue to receive emails, etc.?

Using DIGITS and Duplicate SIMs, is is possible to receive SMS notifications if you don't have the TMO Digits Messages web page open?

$

I've opened the T-Mobile DIGITS Messages web page with Chrome. I receive notifications when incoming SMS texts arrive. How do I continue to receive notifications when the Messages web page is not opened in Chrome? I realize that Chrome will need to be running at all times, but it's a hassle to require that the page be open all the time. For example, if I login/logout of my PC or reboot, then I have to remember to open the Messages web page and log in before I can receive further notifications. One possible solution would be for TMO to build a chrome extension to do this?

Zappos ?

I tried all day yesterday to redeem the zappos $25 oFF using the t-Mobile Tuesday app. I received a notice from the T-mobile app that Zappos Techies are fixing the problem. Then late last night the message read we will be notified later in the week with information on getting the Zappos deal. Im thinking we have just been left out in the cold [figuratively speaking].

WHat's going on?

IS this what it means to have been ZAPPED????
