Good news! That activation fee you dread so much will no longer be coming to a bill near you! All you have to do to avoid that fee is activate a new line of service at a T-Mobile-owned retail store, over the phone with Customer Care, or online at T-Mobile.com or My T-Mobile.
No matter where you activate, any new Value No Annual Contract activation will be free of an activation fee.
If you activate at a T-Mobile Retail store, you will see the activation fee charged and credited on the same bill, but if you activate over the phone or T-Mobile.com, the fee won’t be charged at all.
As always, some restrictions apply. The following customers will be charged a $35 activation fee:
- Puerto Rico customers
- Washington DC customers who activate a line on a Classic plan
- Customers activating on a Classic plan at non-T-Mobile stores, like Best Buy or Target
