Contract Information

We’ve heard you! We know that no one likes to be chained to an inflexible contract. That’s why T-Mobile has done away with two-year service contracts. After March 24, 2013, any customer activating on a Value No Annual Contract plan will not be bound by the painful norms of a service contract. You will, however, still receive the same great T-Mobile service.

For customers who activated before March 24, your contract still applies, but any changes you make to your account will not extend your contract. That’s right! Go ahead and change your rate plan, or upgrade your phone! We will not extend your service contract. And when it runs out, you are free to continue making any changes you’d like without renewing your contract. We want you to enjoy all we have to offer, without that tied-down feeling.

As always, some restrictions do apply. The following customers will still agree to a two-year contract:

  • Puerto Rico customers
  • Washington DC customers activating a Classic plan
  • Customers who activate a new line on a Classic plan through non-T-Mobile retail stores, like Best Buy or Target

If you have a contract and believe your service agreement was renewed or extended in error, please contactCustomer Care. Customer Care will take a look at your account, and if necessary, may refer you to our Conract Review team to determine if your service agreement is valid.

The Contract Review team does NOT:

  • Waive early termination fees
  • Solve pricing disputes
  • Solve disputes regarding tax charges
  • Handle buyer's remorse terminations
  • Handle cancellations due to coverage issues

Note: If Customer Care refers you to Contract Review, the timeline for a response is currently 10 business days.
