I have a question relating to the simple choice plan. My family is looking to switch from Verizon to T-Mobile and get 5 lines on a Simple Choice plan. We all already have T-Mobile smartphones so we'll only need to get SIM cards when buying the Simple Choice plan. I see that when I add the Simple Choice plan to the cart and the SIM cards, there's the option to port in phone numbers to the SIM card. So I'm planning on porting 5 Verizon numbers to the SIM cards when I checkout. Here's what my question is though.
When does T-Mobile activate the SIM cards and when do they port the numbers?
Obviously the SIM cards have to be shipped, so if T-Mobile activates them right away and ports the numbers we'll be out of service for a little while. Not to mention all 5 of us live in different places, which means I'll have to send the separate SIM cards to everyone.
Ideally I'd like to get the SIM cards, send them to my family members, then have T-Mobile activate the Simple Choice plan and port the numbers but I'm not sure how it all works.
