I was disgusted with AT&T for many reasons (MUCH longer rant than this forum deserves) so on 19 April 2013 I bought and activated and factory unlocked a brand new T-Mobile iPhone 5. I work overseas with the military and so my plan was to take the new phone overseas and install a localized SIM in the country where I work....long story short - I didn't use the phone over here on my last trip, and when I returned to work recently I went to install a localized SIM and found that my iPhone 5 HAS NO EXTERNAL SIM TRAY ACCESS PORT! Pardon the prior caps, but I've never seen such a thing before.
So here's my question: Is it possible that since this was a very early purchase from the T-Mobile store, this phone was mis-configured on assembly in the rush to make the T-Mobile introductory release? If so, has this issue been seen and reconciled already. I would walk this thing into the nearest T-Mobile store, however, the nearest one is about 36 hours air transit to get to from here......
