To play music or MP3s in the music player, follow these steps:

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
2. Scroll to and select Media.
3. Select Music.
4. Select All Songs.
5. Scroll to and select a song to play.

Transfer music from computer to device

To transfer music files between a computer and the device, follow these steps:

Note: To see a list of file formats that the device can play, see Tech specs.

1. Connect the small end of your USB cable to your device and the large end of the cable to your computer.
2. At the message, “Do you want to turn on Mass Storage Mode? You might not be able to access some media files in this mode.”, select No.
   • Note: To access files without using BlackBerry Desktop Manager, select Yes to turn on Mass Storage Mode.
3. On your computer, open the BlackBerryDesktopManager application.
4. Click the Media icon.
5. Under MediaManager, click Launch.
6. Under My Devices, clickor BlackBerry 9700 [Your device PIN] [Media Card]
7. Browse to the folder where you want to save the file.
8. In the top part of the window, browse to the file that you want to move.
9. Click Copy Down.
10. At the Copy Files window, select one of the following methods to copy the files to your device:
    • Convert for optimal playback: To automatically convert the files to the optimal format and size for your device.
    • Copy with no conversion: To copy the files with the existing format and size.
    • Advanced conversion options: To select a destination format and size.
11. Click OK.
