Please provide me / us with instructions to transfer a phone number to a different device & micro SIM card.
I’ve tried 2 different browsers (Safari & Firefox), and could not find an option for Manage > Update SIM Card.
I also followed the directions in the "Update your SIM Card" document, but I get lost at step #6, where it says "Follow the steps on the page." I’ve found no steps on the page. It just goes to the regular t-mobile.com page whether I’m using Safari or Firefox, so it’s not just an issue of browser compatibility.
My guess is that although it doesn’t seem to be a browser issue, which was suggested before by tech support (unless this feature only is supported on Internet Explorer, which I doubt), it’s an account issue! The account whose phone number I want to transfer to a new micro SIM is 1 of those funky Walmart / T-Mobile $30/month accounts (100 min talk, unlimited text, “unlimited” data). When I type www.t-mobile.com/SIM the login screen correctly says: “Existing customers: Please log into update your SIM card number.” It’s only after I enter the T-Mobile phone number and Password and login, that I’m redirected to www.t-mobile.com and have NO directions for updating a SIM. When I click on “Back to My Account,” and click on Manage, there is no option for “Update SIM Card.” So, my guess is that anyone with these particular funky accounts can’t currently use the website to update our SIM cards, regardless of what browser we’re using. When I ordered a new micro SIM card from T-Mobile over the phone, the sales rep told me that I had to make certain that I updated the new micro SIM 1) online rather than 2) in a T-Mobile store or by phone to preserve this $30/month plan. It sounds like a catch 22. So, what are people with this plan supposed to do if the website seems to block us from doing this??? Thanks in advance for helping us out!
