I bought a Xperia z phone from a private seller off of craigslist for 350 dollars. Note this was my first time buying a used phone and did not know the consequences of doing this. As the transaction went smoothly the seller told me that the phone was bought brand new and there was no issues with the phone. He said all i had to do was go to the t mobile store and buy a micro sim card for it, since i did have the old bigger sim card. I went online to find out more about the phone and how i was going to be able to get the phone connected. A tutorial came up on how i could make my bigger sim card smaller by simply cutting it down with a knife. I followed the instructions and was able to get the sim card in. As i inserted the sim card into the phone an error popped up saying phone not allowed MM#6. I immediately contacted the guy who had sold it to me and got no reply from him. I was robbed. I went to the t mobile store to see if there was anything they could do to help me. I asked them that if there was a remaining balance on the phone i was willing to pay it off. I even offered them a price for them to get the phone back and running and nothing. I was told no, no, no. They treated me like a thief saying you should not steal phones etc etc. I honestly did not feel like a customer anymore. I took the phone to a shop to see if they could do anything and the only option they gave me was to unlock the phone and use it with another company/carrier. I have been with t mobile for maybe 5 years or more. I refused to switch carriers because i had been with t mobile for so long. I tried once more to talk to t mobiles customer service and still nothing. I told them that if there was nothing else that could be done then i was going to cancel my account and switch carriers. They did not hesitate to give me instructions on how to cancel my account. I am now going to cancel my account and use the phone with a different carrier. I feel really bad. T mobile basically said no if you do not like it fu** off. I take full responsibility for my actions and do not blame t mobile for my mistake. I write this for others to read and be smart about buying used phones out there. Be sure to check the IMEI number before a purchase. Ask for receipt and proof of purchase. Or be smart and do not buy phones off craigslist or ebay. T mobile you have been good to me no complaints until now. It is a shame on how things had to end. We must part ways now, maybe we will be re united in the future this i do not know but know that you will always be in my heart.
