DynamicDNS or StaticIP

Hello,

I recently acquired a new TMobile ZTE Sonic 2.0 4G HotSpot.

My question:

Is there a way to get this thing to work with a DDNS service?

Have it auto-update its IP address to a service like DynDNS.org?

Alternately, is there a way to get this device  to get a static IP address from T-Mobile?

I have a datacard from AT&T, and it has a static IP address... it costs me $3.00 per month for the IP address.

I rather it be free, yet for $3.00... not bad.

I want to access a computer inside the HotSpot's network from the outside.

Specifically, ssh into it (default port 22).

I already went into the HotSpot's configuration utility (via browser).

Configuration --> Firewall Settings

Now, I played with both the Port Forwarding, and the MAC/IP/Port Filtering.

I first did the Port Forwarding (say, port 4444 on the outside, have it translate to port 22 on the inside to a specific IP).

I Saved the settings... restarted the HotSpot... and nothing.

I then took that out, tried a similar configuration with the MAC/IP/Port Filtering, save, restart... and nothing.

I haven't had this equipment for one week... so I am still within the time-frame to take it back to the store.

Can anybody offer some help?

Guidance?

It is hard to believe that this device won't do DDNS... and/or accept outside connections.

Help please... other than this huge problem, the device is perfect for my needs.

Thank you,

SB
