Rebate offer only valid on Unlimited plans (and when the sales rep doesn't lie to you)

This happened to me twice now with TMobile.  Last year my wife upgraded from a normal cell phone to a Samsung Galaxy Blaze. A rebate was offered with that phone.  The sales rep at the store assured her everything was good for the phone, the service, and the rebate and off we went.  She sent in for the rebate and two months later we got a reply saying her rate plan didn't qualify for the rebate.  Two months ago I did the same thing, upgrading from a Sidekick 2 to a Galaxy S2.  In that process I had to change our plans since they were considered obsolete.  The sales rep told me about all the money I would be saving, but didn't mention the $250 rate transfer fee (which a rep on this forum fixed for me, thank you).  This same guy then said I was good to send in for the rebate, but again it turns out the fine print says you must have an Unlimited rate plan.  If they had just told us our rate plans didn't qualify for the rebate that would have saved us a lot of trouble, but instead they assured us we were okay. Other members of my family have had similar issues lately with omissions and deceptive practices by TMobile sales representatives.
