Call "drops" with full service

$
0
0

Long time T-Mobile customer and have always had great and reliable service. Recently my iPhone XS has had a troubling issue where during a call the voice/sound will drop for 5-10 seconds of the call and then return. It is almost as if the person on the other end hit the mute button and it turned back on. I end up missing that part of the persons conversation but I also cannot speak to them to let them know that I cant hear them either. I still have strong signal and the call never fails, I just lose part of it.

This has happened almost daily in every situation I have used the phone (in my hand, connected to Airpods, connected to 2 different car Bluetooths) and in areas around town (even on WiFi which leads me to believe that it could possibly be hardware issue?). No specific phone number or location is any different and it drops on me randomly. I have tried factory reset, updates, toggling LTE, etc but nothing has worked for me. Has anyone had this issue or know of a fix?

Flashing red light

Galaxy S8 has a flashing red LED when the screen is off.  It is not connected to a charger nor is it on a wireless charging pad.  The phone is not hot, it is just lying quietly on my desk, screen off, red light flashing.  I don't want to turn off the LED indicator completely, but I cannot find why this light is blinking.  Ideas?

messaging inbox full on Samsung Gravity TXT T379

My daughter has a Samsung Gravity TXT T379, and keeps getting a message that says "messaging inbox full" and it won't receive any text messages until she deletes some. But I've checked her memory and she has plenty of memory available so it seems to be a hard limit on the number of text messages the phone can store. Is this really right? Is there any way to change this limit?

Is the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL being tested with the November 2019 security and feature update?

The November 2019 security update was pushed by Google and other carriers on Monday.  T-Mobile support via Twitter said it was being worked on, however, the link below doesn't show any activity for the Pixel 4 or Pixel 4 XL.  Is this a mistake?  Is the OTA going to be approved soon?  Thanks.

Disney+ Streaming???

$

0

I have been trying for months to get an answer to this question. I have contacted T-Mobile MANY times and no one seems to know anything about Disney+.

The Question: Will Disney+ be added to the Binge-On List?

As I stated, I have contacted customer support MANY times. No one seems to know anything. And this isn’t a new issue. I originally contacted them in September 2017 (YES, 2 years ago) when Disney changed from 3 apps (Disney Channel, Disney Junior, & Disney XD) to the all-inclusive 'Disney Now' app. The 3 separate Disney apps no longer exist. However, they are all still listed on the Binge-On list (something I have told T-Mobile several times in the last two years). And now a new change is happening (tomorrow at 6 AM actually). Yet, no one at T-Mobile seems to know anything. All I am ever told is to check the list. I check the list all the time, but seeing as it’s been more than 2 years since it’s been updated, I can’t rely too much on that can I? Neither can the poor support staff since they have the same out-dated listed to answer my questions with. It’s really lazy on the part of T-Mobile to not keep these things updated even for  their own staff. And it makes a bad first impression to new clients as well.

Disney+ is going to have EVERYTHING. Disney owns Fox, Star Wars and of course Disney’s own products and more than that. So it’s a must-have for a lot of people. Yet, T-Mobile can’t give me an answer about it.

Forced to dial extra digits on domestic call

This has happened more than once to my daughter and myself when calling my wife's phone. I researched the symptom and it is supposed to affect international callers.  I only call domestic numbers. And when my daughter or I call my wife It is not just a domestic call, it is a call to a phone number within the same family plan. I never enter the additional numbers, instead I hang up and call again. It may take one or two tries. Either way, This is really annoying. What gives?

OnePlus has released multiple updates to Android 10 on non TMobile varient One Plus 7 Pro devices. I've reached out to them to find out why i cannot update my phone and was told TMobile has to approve the software first. It's been out for a while now and I would like to get the update in a timely manner. Why can't I get the update now when it's been out for over a month.

Is it possible to get a refund for a Virtual Mastercard Rebate That Was Fraudulently Used Before I Even Used It

I received a Virtual Mastercard as a rebate for the phone. Within months the card was fraudulently used and because I didn't keep up with my balance like I would with a normal credit card I didn't catch it within the 60 days the fraud needs to give money back. Has anyone else experience this? Is it possible to get a new rebate from Tmobile since this is a Wirecard issue. Is fraud common with these rebates and if so why are people not warned? I've never experienced this with other rebates or gift cards.

Nokia 3310 3G not receiving incoming texts

$

Hello,

I'm hoping TMobile or a user can provide me some answers, as no one has been able to so far...

I'm an avid dumb phone user. I've happily had a nokia 3310 3G (a phone which came out in 2017), factory unlocked, purchased at best buy in the USA in 2018, working fine for over a year. In mid october of this year, my phone stopped receiving incoming texts. Calls in and out, and text messages out, all work fine. Since texts are half of what I use my phone for, this is a big issue to me.

To try to resolve this issue, Tmobile sent me a new sim card - no dice. I cleared the memory on the phone. I reset my phone, no dice. I switched my sim into a different 3310 3G device I have for emergencies - still no incoming texts. I made sure my IMEI was registered with tmobile. I checked my coverage with TMobile--according to them, I'm still in an area with great 2G, 3G coverage. At this point, tmobile said that was all they could do with me and suggested I call nokia. Nokia told me that this was not a common problem, and that if I had done a factory reset and it still did not work, then there was nothing they could do and suggested I check the warranty with the vendor. Of course if the individual device was the problem, I'd happily buy a new 3310 (they are only $60!), but I've had the same problem repeat exactly on two phones, and by now I'm skeptical that it's the device.

All I would like is a straight answer--Does Tmobile no longer support sms for unlocked phones from non-tmobile brands? Is this something specific to Nokia, or to 3310's?

Thank you for taking the time to read this.... I don't really mind what the outcome is, as long as I'm not stuck in a loop of trying to purchase a new device that wouldn't work in the first place.

The fast charging is enabled but very slow charging like one percent increase of charge for 15 minutes charging time. What might be the cause of slow charging. I asked Samsung forum and answer was my phone is not USA  version - blank answer , and the other says T mobile is making the fast charging to slow charging for security upgrade needed. How true is this statements?

iPhone XS removing SIM-Lock

$

Hi everyone.

The iPhone XS (XS Max and XR) has a physical SIM slot and a digital SIM.

With both of them, a unique IMEI.

After 40 days on the network, with an account in good standing, you are normaly eligible to unlock your phone.

That means, you can use a SIM card from a different carrier.

To do so, you need to provide your IMEI.

When purchasing your phone at T-Mobile, I believe both IMEI are SIM-Locked.

When you provide the digital SIM IMEI, their system doesn't recognize the device.

I have unlock my iPhone by providing the IMEI of the physical slot.

In many places, I have read that a request must be done for both IMEI, because a carrier can unlock one slot only if they want. So the request to Apple server must be for both IMEI.

I have read somewhere else that T-Mobile unlock both IMEI by providing only the physical SIM IMEI.

So, what is the turth ? Is my phone unlock for both IMEI or not ?

Is the eSIM unlocked or not ?

I am asking here, because no rep is able to answer that question. THey don't even understand the question.

I got a superviser at the phone, during 1 hour, and she was saying that since they are not supporting the eSIM, they can't help debugging the digital SIM...

This is so weird...

So, if anyone has been able to remove the SIM lock and use their phone with a different carrier on the eSIM, could be nice to share your experience...

And if a T-Mobile engineer is here around, if he can reply to this question, could be nice...

Because at the store, they are selling a dual-SIM phone, but if they can't remove the SIM lock (supposedly because they don't support the eSIM), means you can't use the dual-SIM feature while you travel around the world.

So, before knowing the real answer, be careful purchasing your new iPhone at T-Mobile...

Same SMS messages always fail to be received

$
0
0

Hello. I work for a company that builds white label chatbots for financial institutions. One of the channels we offer the service on is SMS, leveraging twilio as our provider to enable delivery of SMS messages.

I use my T-Mobile phone for receipt of inbound messages to test and demonstrate our technology. Recently, I'm experiencing behavior where the same exact messages in specific multi-part conversations will fail to reach my phone. Looking at twilio's SMS logs for these undelivered messages, they show a status of delivered to the carrier network (in this case that's T-Mobile).

I asked another individual with T-Mobile to test as well and he experienced the same behavior (same missing messages). But my colleagues with other carriers are able to receive all the messages on their phones without issue. One additional note is that if I modify the text in the missing messages to remove certain key words or phrases, those new messages WILL be delivered to my phone successfully on a subsequent attempt. If I restore the text to the 'undeliverable' version, it will fail to reach my phone again. So at this point it appears something internally on T-Mobile's end is preventing delivery of very specific messages in a 100% reproducible way. Spam blocker has already been disabled for my account, and customer support has been adamant that there's nothing else which which would prevent messages from being delivered.

I've spoken to multiple T-Mobile technical experts about this issue and opened at least a couple support tickets. I've received automated texts telling me the issue is resolved but no personal follow-up from any technical contacts at T-Mobile, and unsurprisingly the issue is not resolved.

At this point I'm reaching out on behalf of myself personally (As a customer/recipient, I wonder why I can't whitelist all messages from a specific number regardless of what internal anti-spam countermeasures that number might be triggering)... and on behalf of my company (As a legitimate service delivering messages on behalf of established, FDIC-insured financial institutions, we'd like to better understand the reason specific messages might not be delivered to mobile end users).

I've offered additional details and availability for joint troubleshooting to T-Mobile support. I can provide the originating phone number, my (inbound) T-mobile number, message SIDs, timestamps, and precise text for the missing messages. I'd hope all that information could enable you to to find some logs on the missing messages and determine a root cause. This issue is impacting me negatively on multiple fronts. I'd appreciate any assistance.
