Roaming in Canada - Call drops after one ring, both incoming and outgoing

$

I have this issue at least since last two weeks here in Canada. WiFi calling works, but outdoors with cellular network calls just ring for one or half ring and routes to voice mail. Same with outgoing calls. Also not able to register manually to other networks like Rogers 4G.

I tried all sorts of troubleshooting like switching phones, carriers selection manually, etc. No change.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Oreo update turns bluetooth off!

Ever since I did the G930TUVU4CRF1 update (Android 8 Oreo update), my bluetooth has been turning on and off by itself.  I cannot stream music, cannot connect to my car, can't connect to my smartwatch, and couldn't use a bluetooth selfie stick during a recent wedding!  Why?  Because the bluetooth feature turns off for hours at a time.  No matter how many times I click on bluetooth icon, or go into settings, the bluetooth toggles and buttons do not work.  Greyed out.

I've tried several online suggestions (clearing caches, etc.) to no avail.  Last night, I did a clean install and it worked for about 4 hours.  Here we go again.

A new program that I haven't ever used before is SmartThings by Samsung.  Could this be the culprit?  I don't think it is a hardware issue, because when the bluetooth decides to turn on by itself, it work.

Is T-Mobile dropping the range of their cellular towers throughout the day?

$

I have been noticing quite consistently lately that cellular strength (in dBm) drops considerably throughout points of the day.  I have queried the tower the cell device connects to (or attempts to) via AT-Command.  At times during the day the signal strength will be as weak as -112dBm (To completely disconnected from the tower), but also the same tower can be as strong as -85dBm during different parts of the day (queried via RSSI).  The location of the device is fixed and does not change in position at any time during the day, so it cannot be anything structural in the immediate area that could be "blocking the signal"

I would like to have a clear and concise answer as to why is T-Mobile doing this?

How could the same tower be dropping power so badly?  It's not the device I am using as I am measuring the power throughout the radio chip and it only peaks when attempting to connect out to a tower, but never drops below operational (1.750mA Peak, 553mA continuous)

Here's some technical info while querying the tower:

Looking for my pin number

Hi -

I am trying to move my account to Credo Mobile.  When discussing with them, they said that I need to provide for them my security pin with Tmobile.  I have a password for accessing via the web, a 4-digit pin to access my phone and a password for accessing this community.  Is any of those my "Pin".  If not, then where do I access this pin?

Notes:

I won't be able to bring my existing Tmobile phone with me.  I understand that.  I have acquired a used phone and verified with Credo that it will work on their system.  I do intend to bring the phone number with me.
I do not have a contract to pay off.  I own the phone I use with Tmobile.
I do not use any sort of TMobile pay-as-you go system (which seemed to apply to one of the answers I found here, so that's part of why I'm writing out a separate question)

Note also that I am basically pleased with the service I got from Tmobile, the reason I am switching this number to Credo is a complicated decision involving reception, more than one phone and how the systems bill on more than one phone.

Mobile a major force on the World soccer stage

This year’s World Cup was full of inspiring Cinderella stories and jaw-dropping upsets. But of all the players making a dramatic and surprising impact this year, the one with the most long-term impact may very well be mobile.

World Cup 2018 on mobile

The Russia games are the latest – and greatest – major spectator event to show that device-driven viewing is on the rise. Earlier this year we saw increases in mobile-viewing during major events like the Super Bowl and the Olympics. But the World Cup usage stats make it clear that this trend is here to stay.

Record breaking live-streams

We know there's a massive appetite for live-streamed sports, and the usage data backs that up. T-Mobile’s network saw unprecedented spikes in streaming traffic on match days:

  • On July 11, when Croatia squeezed out England in extra time during the semi-finals, the spike was 130% above normal.
  • When Croatia upset Argentina 0-3 on June 21, traffic was up 150% over normal usage.
  • The six goals made when France bested Croatia during last Sunday's final placed the game in the record books -- it was the highest-scoring championship match since England’s 4-2 win over West Germany in 1966. That match delivered a traffic spike of 110%.

Days with multiple matches saw similar or even higher spikes. On June 27, when there were simultaneous games (South Korea vs. Germany and Mexico vs. Sweden), T-Mobile saw a staggering 180% boost over normal activity and measured a record-setting 1.1 Tbps of data traffic.

“This is exactly why we built a network with this level of capacity – the world is rapidly moving towards mobile,” said T-Mobile CTO and native Englishman Neville Ray, whose excitement may have been briefly dampened when his team was sent home before the finals. (Better luck in 2022, Three Lions!) Ultimately, T-Mobile saw huge traffic spikes almost every day of the World Cup -- check out some particularly noteworthy matches below.

Everyone remembers their first Overwatch match. You were excited, nervous, and probably Ice Walled at exactly the right (wrong) time. In the spirit of firsts, it's time to capture history with the inaugural Overwatch League (OWL) Grand Finals, so hold on to your payload!

OWL_VS_16x9Magentaborder.pngOWL Grand Finals

This weekend, July 27th and 28th, Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY will host a huge gaming showdown -- the first-ever OWL Grand Finals. Fans will watch on as the final two teams standing; the Philadelphia Fusion and London Spitfire, square off in a best-of-three series. Like any team that actually stays with the payload, the winners will be crowned Overwatch League champions and take home the $1M prize.

Just like in Hanamura, we're fighting for the future -- and T-Mobile is proud to be sponsors of this up-and-coming eSport. Leading up to the event this weekend we hosted a fan meet & greet with the League's ten player ambassadors at our Signature Store in Times Square, and even ran a little IRL game action! Together with one of our favorite Houston Outlaws players, Jake Lyon (@jakeow), we held a scavenger hunt and stashed loot and tickets to the sold-out OWL Finals around NYC, in six locations inspired by League teams.

Those joining OWL in NY for the Grand Finals will find no shortage of things to do in Barclays Center -- with DJ sets, performance painting and cosplayers roaming the premises, the League won't be the only talent in the building. Fans can create custom signs and get decked out with temporary tattoos and face paint to cheer on their team of choice during matches. Once they're in full gear; they can capture a little history of their own by posing with the trophy in the photo booth or taking pics set against an Overwatch-themed backdrop. Of course there will be giveaways and a gear store, too.

No matter how you choose to watch; make sure to tune in over the weekend and cast your vote before the final battle is done. After updating to Oreo via the OTA release, bluetooth audio now skips/stutters constantly.  Before the update it never skipped at all.  Anyone else experiencing this yet?  Hardware/Software info:  LG V30 LG-H932 Rev.1.0 from T-mobile.  Android v 8.0.0, 4.4.78 kernel, h93320h software.   The only bluetooth audio device that I use it with (so the only I've tested with so far) is my vehicles Pioneer AVH-X2600BT head unit.

Suddenly no Data, Calls or Texts inside building

Sorry but this is going to be long.

I have been TMobile customer for YEARS. I have only noticed the coverage getting better thru the years (yippee).
Then I got a new job and I had zero coverage inside the building (they do not allow me to connect to Wi-Fi). Not happy since I know that both Sprint and Verizon work inside the building (i had those phones for other jobs I was working-don't ask). I happen to get the S9+ and I was getting calls and text message then. No data but that is fine, I am ok with that. Then all of the sudden it just stopped. I have this $800 rock for 45 hours a week. Why would it just stop like that when the Sprint and Verzion phones didn't?

Is there any solution other than changing carriers??

Misc info 46809 is the zip and I have 5 bars but again no data.

Spotify and Nike+ Running App

I am having a trouble with connecting Spotify with my Nike+ Running app.

This is a common problem, and very frustrating! I really wish T-Mobile would do something about it. Nonetheless, I'm curious if any community members have a solution for this.

Whenever I connect Spotify to my Nike+ app via Wi-fi, everything is fine. I can use the app and play music. However, once I get out of range and switch to LTE, Spotify no longer works. I understand this is due to T-Mobile's "Music Freedom" service. Apparently all third-party apps have trouble connecting to music streaming services while on data. Only T-Mobile has this problem! Essentially, we cannot listen to music and track our runs at the same time. This is very annoying.

Can we do ANYTHING about this?

Liberia - Why No Data?

$

I just traveled to Liberia for three days and have T Mobile ONE and the website promises voice AND unlimited data at 2G speeds.  I get there and there is only one phone provider to connect to and I couldn’t get data.  I call T Mobile and learn they have no agreement with the provider to allow T Mobile users in Liberia to get data!

So why the false advertising on the web site saying I’d have data in Liberia?  I never have any problems when I travel to Europe.  Only to Africa.  Why is that?

How to disable pop-up warning about Data roaming

$

I have the T-Mobile Simple Choice North America plan, which includes free overseas texting and roaming (I'm currently studying in the UK). Yesterday my Samsung Galaxy Edge S7 received and installed a T-Mobile software update. Ever since then I've been getting the following pop-up warning:

"Attention Data roaming is turned on. International roaming charges may apply as per your rate plan. To turn off Data roaming, please go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks"

Does anyone know how to stop this from continuously popping up?

Not Receiving calls and delayed text messages

Hi all, trying to find a resoultion to this issue that's been happening for the past 5 months. My phone is an unlocked HTC u11.

Randomly I will not receive calls when I have full bars. It doesn't show up as a missed call or anything. The person will message me on another messenger and when I call them back I usually get a bunch of text messages time-stamped from the past hour that I have also missed.

I will also randomly receive voicemails with no missed calls indicating that again, I've missed a call but it does not show up in my notifications .

I've tried all the resetting everything on my phone, I've disabled wifi calling and volte but the problem persists. Has anyone experienced this and had it fixed?

Email to SMS not working (550 Sender IP reverse lookup rejected)

I am trying to use the email to SMS gateway, but it is not working from one of my email servers, the tmomail.net mailservers reject the messages and state "Sender IP reverse lookup rejected" which usually implies reverse DNS is not properly set up. My reverse DNS /is/ properly set up, on both ipv4 and ipv6.

From another server that is almost identically configured including the same reverse DNS setup, it works.

I know my server is configured correctly, with SPF, DKIM, and proper reverse DNS.

Delay receiving group text messages on iPhone 7+

I have been having trouble delay receiving (sometimes up to 12 hours and all the messages come in at once after the 12 hours) group text for a couple months.  This has been on going and I called Apple and T-Mobile for the last couple of months.  I changed out a new sim card.  My group text only includes 2 other people, one is an android phone on T-Mobile service and the other is an iPhone 7+ with Verizon service.  I restored my phone and still having the same issue.  I called T-Mobile and they keep creating trouble tickets and escalated to their engineers.  T-Mobile also did a purge on my account and still an issue.  Still they said they don't see anything wrong.  I contacted Apple and said it is on T-Mobile's end.  I have been a T-Mobile member for at least 12 years, I would hate to go to another provider.  But, what is the use of paying for a service that does not work.

getting added to random text groups

Hi,

On 7/8 - one of our numbers in the plan (iPhone 8) got added to a random text group made up of numbers not in the contact list! Today (7/9) an unknown number got added to our text group automatically (this was a nexus ) and one more phone in our plan (iphone) got added to another random text group!!

What is happening? Are others experiencing this kind of random additions to unknown groups? I saw some folks reporting this issue on ATT and Verizon in late 2017. I called Tmobile support today - they denied any widespread issue and did not create a case for my issue !

OnePlus MMS problems

$

Is anyone else having problems sending MMS (mostly photos via text) over wifi on OnePlus devices. I have tried a OnePlus 5 and a OnePlus 6, and neither will send MMS over wifi, even when WiFi Calling is enabled and working, and wifi preferred is set. Have tried with both stock and 3rd party apps. Have tried my SIM card in an iPhone with no issue. Have also tried another person's SIM card in my phone and experienced same problem so definitely related to OnePlus devices.

Have checked APN settings found on TMo website. Have even done factory reset. Have called TMo to have my phone/SIM reprovisioned. Tried literally everything.

I know that this is the issue because I can get MMS to send in locations with wifi and cell data, but in places with wifi and without a good cell connection, it won't send. Have tested extensively.

I know that non-TMo phones tend to have such issues but I'm hoping someone will have a solution.
