Unhappy new customer "Assisted Support" charge

$

Two days ago, I went to Tmobile to sign up for new service.  I will be using my own phones, so I received 4 sim cards.  I had one phone with me that they inserted the sim card and activated.  I was charged $123 for what I thought were sim cards and activation fees.  Today, I looked at my receipt and was charged $80 for "Assisted Support."  At no time was this charge disclosed to me.  I went online to research the charge and learned that I could have signed up online and avoided the $80 charge.  Never disclosed!  After learning of the charge, I chatted with customer service, and they said they cannot waive the fee.  I am used to getting duped by AT&T, which is why I changed, but now I feel duped by Tmobile.  I told them I want to return the sim cards and get a full refund.  They said to take them back to the store within 14 days.  I am skeptical as to whether they will give me a FULL refund.  I will decide tomorrow whether to dispute the charge with my credit card company.  Are all new customers charged this per phone just for getting sim cards?  This seems like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.

How does 4G work in Canada?

Currenlty, I have unlimited data plan (not sure about the details of the plan that I have) and I am planning to go to Canada over Thanksgiving break. I want to know if I can just use unlimited 4G without extra fee there or I need to sign up for roaming service (or anything else).

Thank you.

Is there a grace period to recover lost balance in an expired prepaid account?

I am grandfathered into the old Pay As You Go as a gold rewards member. I regularly top it off annually to keep the phone active as a emergency spare. This year, i didn't receive any alerts from T-mobile and the account expired about 50 days ago. If I top it off, will my remaining balance return?

Samsung Galaxy A50

T-Mobile employees, when is the Galaxy A50 coming to T-Mobile?!  It's already out on Sprint, Verizon and ATT.  The phone has good specs for a great price.  If you don't know, can you all raise some awareness up the chain?

Wi-Fi calling not working properly

When I connect to my Wi-Fi network the Wi-Fi calling icon is lit up. However when I make a call it becomes greyed out and I'm unable to make a call or the call is very choppy because of poor cell signal. It does not happen all the time but it does seem to happen more when I have very little or no cell signal. Any thoughts on what causes this and or how to fix it? Below is a link to the screenshot of what I'm talking about.

Thanks!

LTE not working

LTE signal is no longer working.  Now defaults to 4G.  Is this a result of a Tower out of service or down for maintenance?

Text messages I send are being split into small text, seems like to just Verizon phones.

$

I have a T-Mobile Note 9 for personal and a Galaxy S9 Verizon for work.

Short Version : This issue is in the default messaging app on Android. Use a different messaging app like Textra and messages send and receive fine.

Long Version: Here is the issue I had, about 3 weeks ago, my Verizon phone started receiving messages from people that were split into small messages, numbered and often out of order.  I was really confused because it came from people on the lesser known networks like Metro PCS.  It is highly annoying.

Yesterday, I bought a Note 9 and started a T-Mobile account.  Instantly, everyone I text was saying my messages were coming through in a jumbled mess. Android and iPhone users both complained. The messages were just the same as my other phone.  I sent a long message between my two phones and the Verizon one received it in pieces, but sent it as a whole message with no paragraphs. (Confusing)

Like everyone who is reading this, you start searching and find no real answers--at least easily.  The best I saw was essentially, it's a network issue that won't be fixed for a while so you better get used to it.  Google was no help and neither were either of the cell companies.  It came down to, we can tell our people and see what they find or you can bring it in.

Answer: Use a different messaging app.  I used a few messaging apps to test and found I preferred Textra over the other ones I tried.  I tested it with a few people on Verizon, both Android and iPhone users--and the alternate messaging apps work fine. So my hunch is that it's not the network, but an update that messed up the default messaging app.

Switch on/off Family plan lines

Hi there

We are not T-Mobile users yet but would like to try Family plan for 5 persons. As I understand we have to pay once 50$=10$x5 and 135$=27$*5 monthly for Essentials. Is it possible to disable one or or more lines at some moment for 6 months (sure losing phone number) and enable them back? If yes how much money will win or lose doing this operation?

Thanks in advance

Denis

My first experience with T-mobile phone support . :-(

Hello, I am new to T-Mobile and to this community. I just moved my 6 lines from ATT (after a couple of decades of being their customers) to T-Mobile. I open the new account on November 12. Today I received my first T-mobile bill. It says: period of service November 12 2019-November 12 2019. Payment due by December 5. Amount $205.

First question: this is a post-paid account, why am I receiving a bill not even a week after I started the service?

Second: what does the service period November 12 2019-November 12 mean? One day?

Third: I signed up for auto-pay, but the discount is not reflected in this bill. The monthly total should be $180, not $205. (Please note that one of the six lines is free thanks to the T-mobile promotion to get the third line free.)

I called the T-mobile support line. The person on the phone simply could not understand my questions, especially about the service period. He kept going over the details of my bill, explaining the charges one by one, but that is not what I had asked. There was definitely a language barrier, but I suspect that was not the only problem.

So what is the best way for me to get answers to these questions?

Thank you all for any help you can provide.

If OnePlus has had the Stable, Finished OnePlus7Pro Oxygen OS Update 10.0.1.GM21AA out since October 18th, 2019 then why has T-MOBILE been unable to forward any Android 10 update as of yet, half way through November?‽

I just started using the Alcatel Go Flip 3, and wonder if I have encountered a bug.

I had an alarm set for 5:45 am.  Before bedtime, I decided to get up at 5:20 instead.  I switched the alarm time, and it woke me up at 5:20.

HOWEVER -- at 5:45, the alarm went off again.  I did not have more than one alarm set.  Only the single alarm remained, and it showed 5:20am.

It has been reported to me that when some people are trying to reach me, they are getting a busy signal or continuous ringing.

I am not receiving any notification of this unless they text me or I happen to call them or see them in person.

I was having this issue last year as well....

Is anyone else currently having this issue?

E-mail to SMS spam blocking

We have been using the tmomail.net e-mail to SMS gateway to send notifications for voicemails received by our corporate PBX.   Sometime within the past few days, these messages started to get blocked.  We are getting a 550 failure code with a "rejecting banned content" description.  There have been some other threads that mention that we can get our domain whitelisted.  srickar has helped others in the past with this, so I have requested to follow him so that I can direct message him our details.  The other threads have been closed, which is why I have started a new thread.  The most recent thread was answered with a solution to use an SMS short code to send out such notifications.  This is probably not an acceptable solution to most customers on this forum, as it costs $1000/mo to maintain a short code.

Background Noise on HD Calling (Pixel 4)

My wife and I recently updated to Pixel 4's from older models. Every time we call each other now, we can hear every single background noise on each other's end, to the point where we just won't call each other unless we're in a quiet room. This wasn't the case with our previous Pixel devices. The devices supposedly have Noise Suppression running on them and should be cancelling out background noise. I'm wondering if there is a chance the issue is on our service and not the devices as I don't have the issue calling other people that don't have T-Mobile?
