I live in Japan about 6 months of the year and ......
I purchased a Galaxy 8+ through T-Mobile and have used it with great success in Japan for the past two years. I spend 2 to 3 months at a time in Japan usually twice a year.
This morning, for the first time, I received a message from T-Mobile stating that "The majority of the recent T-Mobile usage on line (my phone number) has been roaming internationally. Per our terms and condition roaming benefits are not intended for extensive use abroad. You can use WIFI to reduce your international usage...."
First off let me state that I do use WIFI whenever it is available. However, I live in a temple for about 8 hours a day where it is not available and when there I seldom use the device anyway.
I do not want to set myself up with a huge phone bill when I get back to the States and am thinking about getting a SIM card for Japan. Since I have permanent residency in Japan, I should not find it difficult to get a SIM card. NOTE: there are sim cards for tourists as well but I think that I may want to get a more "permanent" one....maybe.
I have two questions:
1. I will be in Japan for another month and a half this time. What potential "penalties" am I facing if I continue to use my phone for that period?
2. If a purchase a SIM card and install it, do I lose my T-Mobile phone number access, do I lose the ability to use the installed apps etc in the same manner that I am now What are the drawbacks of installing a SIM?
I have Galaxy Note 4 here in Japan that I could install a SIM card on, but I don't really want to have to begin an additional service for that when I already have what is presently a very nice setup thanks to T-Mobile!.......which apparently they don't want to continue to provide beyond a certain period of time or data or whatever....
Any feedback would be great!

Alcatel Go Flip 3 Can't Sync With Google Account
Hi,
I just started using the Altcatel Go Flip3 and am having issues connecting to my google account from the KaiOS. I cannot import contacts, setup gmail sync, or sync my google calendar. Each time I enter my google log-in for these services, I get an error saying "this app has not been verified yet by google in order to use Google Sign In". This phone is designed to sync with google for contacts, gmail, and calendar but it appears there are some software issues with the current version of KaiOS. Does anyone have any clue why this wouldn't be working? Thanks, Eric.

Digits line not ringing
The phone does not ring when someone calls my Digits line. My primary line works just fine. I've already tried logging in and out of the app and restarting my phone. These have fixed the issue in the past but not this time. Any other ideas?

What is "DeviceGuard"?
I own a LG K20, and recently it popped up with a "DeviceGuard" that has been checking a flashlight app continuosly. This is the first time I've seen this come up before and would like to know how to shut it off, if possible. Thanks

Poor signal reception but T-mobile Map claims otherwise.

Your claim that there is an 'excellent signal' at where I am located is false. Your maps indicate that there is 4G LTE 'excellent signal' and that 4G LTE 700 (Mhz) is available here. I recently got an iphone 6s and tested it here but to my disappointment, the signal strength is 'weak' at best and poor and spotty most of the time. Something as simple as a line of text takes tens of minutes to send and at times, doesn't send at all because it times out. Your website: Extended Range LTE | 600 MHz & 700 MHz Spectrum Phones | T-Mobile indicates that iphone 6s does support 4G LTE 700 (Mhz), but in reality and many times, there is no data coverage at all (i.e. data coverage that doesn't work). This phone actually did worse than my older iphone 5s which didn't do all that well either, which was the reason I looked for phones that support more 4G LTE bands and technologies. Now, I'll probably return my iphone 6s.
I believe that such false information should NOT be released to public as it could be deemed a false advertising that leads consumers to wasted efforts, time and money. Therefore, I have come to a conclusion that T-mobile is just not honest with what it once claimed: 'best cell network'.
I have tried 3 different T-mobile phones here and they all get very poor reception here. I have made sure that network/cell carrier/data settings are set correctly on these phones. Because phones are made to 'look for' the best network/signal, the phones use up a lot of battery power to do so. This drains battery like crazy on the phones that have excellent battery performance otherwise (i.e. while connected on wifi or in areas where a good 4G LTE is available). I've been trying to get good data coverage here for the last several years, but to no avail. Are you planning on providing a good data coverage here? Or, at least be honest and stop saying that 'excellent signal' is available here.

How to Request Business URL Unblock?
I work for a company that develops an app, and the app has a feature to send an invite code via SMS.
The message is being sent directly from our users' devices to other devices, but any link that includes our URL isn't sent.
For instance, I can send https://google.com, but not my company's URL.
Where should I direct my questions and what's the process of unblocking it?
We've been providing our service for over 4 years, and it seems like our URL recently got blocked as I didn't have this problem in the past.
Our app is serving over 7 million users, and there must be quite a lot of users who are with T-Mobile.

Who's blocking RCS?
Tmobile S10E. This is getting stupid, RCS is only available on specific phones and only between those certain phones and only if they are TMobile branded. I have it with Samsung messages but I prefer Google messages. Is it TMobile, Samsung, Google? Seriously, someone needs to fix it.

Mobile Sidekick resurrection
After weeks of extensive research, troubleshooting and back and forth with customer service, on the mission to having my t-mobile sidekick 3 device alive again... i have come to narrowing it down to only being compatible with t-mobile sim cards that have "TM9260" written on it. These are 2-3 yr older nano sim cards. My main phone, iphone7 has a "TM9263" prepaid simcard and these new sim cards only operate on 3G and higher networks. Upon inserting it into the sidekick, the sidekick does not even acknowledge it has a sim card... ***please note to all other users with an old unlocked GSM device running on 2G network only "dumb phone"... you must have and older simcard in order to operate. ( interchangeable sim between both devices is a must...i need iPhone for gps/data when out and about...and dumb phone for call n text at home only -detox from smartphones- .... sidekick nostalgia and qwerty board is my go to).
With that said...is there anyway i can purchase a "TM9260" simcard and activate it with my current number? Speaking for weeks with t-mobile customer service, tech support and sales solved nothing. They have / had no clue on simcard numeration, codes, meanings, capacities, other then "post paid sim cards and prepaid sim cards are different"..... but can and will any of them jump on the soon to be terminated 2G network?
My boyfriends TM9260 sim card is prepaid and he's had it for a few years... it works in my sidekick! (i should have been tried that from the beginning!) i called to make a sim swap...give him my TM9263 sim and switch accounts and phone numbers, and despite customer service trying... bless her heart... apparently it could not be done due to outdated prepaid plans vs new prepaid plans??? yet we have the same prepaid plan. i am not yet ready to give up on my sidekick 3.
what can i do? please help?

Why no bluetooth teethering or usb teethering?
I have seen answers historically as well as being told by current T-Mobile experts that the lack of bluetooth tethering and usb tethering is a device issue when in reality it is a T-Mobile issue. Simply that the "uncarrier" is being very big carrier like in their disabling of these features on phones and being disingenuous with their answers.
I would love to see an official response from T-Mobile that has no FUD and takes ownership of this issue. It is not an issue of if one bought a T-Mobile device or if it is an unlocked device. In reality it is the "uncarrier" that is disabling this ability.

T-Mobile employees, when is the Galaxy A50 coming to T-Mobile?! It's already out on Sprint, Verizon and ATT. The phone has good specs for a great price. If you don't know, can you all raise some awareness up the chain?

Samsung A7 and TMobile service
I have purchased a Samsung A7 phone Model Number SM-A750F since it a dual sim from India and trying to use it with my Tmobile service in USA. The phone only catches the 2G speed and I am unable to have clear connection even while talking on the phone. This is a real big problem. I tried changing APN setting:
T-Mobile APN settings for Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) - APN Settings USA and still was not able to solve the issue.
Can somebody please help.

Text messages stuck "sending"
Was wondering if anyone else is having this issue. When sending text messages they sometimes get stuck "sending" and never go through. This happens both on / off WiFi and I have tried both with and without wifi calling. I've also changed the network settings off LTE to 4g/3g/2g and even just to 2g to try and resolve this.
This is happening on my S8, wifes S8, and our sons S8+. Started within the last two weeks and according to TMO store rep it's a firmware issue that Samsung is aware of but I'm not seeing others with this issue complaining so it makes me wonder.

Razer phone signal strength issues
I recently purchased the RAZER phone made by RAZER INC. I am having issues with receiving service in the building where I work. The signal is attainable at random spots, but not in the office I sit. I contacted T-Mobile and was told that the antenna in the phone is too weak to receive signals from their towers. This seems highly unlikely to me as it is a newer phone that was only made last year. Does anyone else have this phone, and if so, do you have any issues with signal strength?

80% of Roaming Data used; Roaming Data turned Off
I was informed today that I have used 80% of my roaming data, but yet my tablet's roaming data has always been set to off! (My monthly service just renewed last week; I haven't left town or even been anywhere new, and this is the first time I have used apparently used roaming data.) How do I turn off roaming data completely?
