Battery Drain on LG V30 after System update.
LTE bands 2 vs 66
Hello. Since I switched to Tmobile last year, I have had an absolutely horrible LTE
data connection. I live in a big city so this is totally unacceptable. Nobody at Apple or T-Mobile have really been able to do anything for me besides the usual resetting the network connection, resetting the settings in iPhone, airplane mode toggle, everything. I had an XS Max last year and would regularmy get 1 bar with data speeds around that of a 56k modem. They convinced me it was due to that phone being unlocked from At&t. I knew that was BS but let It go thinking I’d get the new iPhone soon anyways. I’m having the exact same problem with the iPhone pro! 1 bar and data so slow it can’t be used for anything. so im basically paying T-Mobile for nothing since I have to use WiFi all the time. I figured out I can go into field test mode
on iPhone and see the LTE connections and I see my problem! It’s connecting to band 2, which is slow as can be! Once in a great while it connects to a band 66 and it’s speeds run 30 mbps or faster, but it only briefly connects to this and drops it’s fairly quickly. Both bands are fairly week signals -110 db which is weird since I live a mile from a tower. is there anything I can do to get my phone to want to stay connected to the band 66? This is the only way the service is usable For me.
My T-Mobile Login Loop Bug
Dear Friends,
I just battled for days (and now overcame!) a login loop issue while trying to log into My T-Mobile.
I post this here on the off chance that it will help some other poor, confused soul, as I was mere minutes ago—and on the so-remote-it-makes-Pluto-look-near chance that it will actually get fixed.
The problem is this...
What appears to happen is that if you try to login with your phone number, and if T-Mobile thinks that you need to reset your password, there is absolutely no way to login to your account. You can't even use the mobile app. (You also can't login to contact support, because that requires logging in to My T-Mobile, and they have no email address you can contact.) (To their credit, I could have called them and attempted the verbal acrobatics of explaining this over the phone to some poor underpaid soul in a call center.)
A story by (riveting) pictures:
First, you try to login to My T-Mobile. It asks you to reset your password. (Side note, the password reset page is completely bizarre, as the checks to see whether your password passes the criteria seem to break in odd and confusing ways; a long password somehow immediately fails all of the other criteria? Anyway, moving on.) After this, you are treated to a nice infinite loop:
After trying this enough times, it may eventually just fail with the following error page:
(Repeating the above multiple times with different web browsers bears no fruit.)
If you try to, say, download the T-Mobile app with your iPhone, you'll be treated to the same process, except instead of a grey screen infinite looping, you get to see the pink app do that. It, too, will eventually give up after several attempts and show you a different error screen:
(Pause here for dramatic effect where you actually believe the error messages and that someone might fix the problem over the course of a few days.)
Now, you might think, why don't you just reset your password upfront? Shortcut the whole process and get to the point, right? Yeah, let's try that:
A-ha! Everything still fails, but you (sometimes) get a mysterious error message: "The provided user_id is not found." This is, of course, malarkey, because you've already provided your phone number and it's found your account and texted you a confirmation code and everything. But it leads us to believe... maybe the phone number is the problem?
So, repeat the above using your email instead of your phone number, and voila, you can reset your password and everything works.
In the minuscule chance that this saga works its way through T-Mobile's bureaucracy and to its developers, I offer you my humble thanks in advance for fixing this confusing hodgepodge of loops and errors.
Yours, loyally,
- A T-Mobile Customer

OnePlus7Pro Oxygen OS 10.0.1.GM21AA
If OnePlus has had the Stable, Finished OnePlus7Pro Oxygen OS Update 10.0.1.GM21AA out since October 18th, 2019 then why has T-MOBILE been unable to forward any Android 10 update as of yet, half way through November?‽
How do I turn off the data maximizer? Is the website lying to me?
Why no bluetooth teethering or usb teethering?
I have seen answers historically as well as being told by current T-Mobile experts that the lack of bluetooth tethering and usb tethering is a device issue when in reality it is a T-Mobile issue. Simply that the "uncarrier" is being very big carrier like in their disabling of these features on phones and being disingenuous with their answers.
I would love to see an official response from T-Mobile that has no FUD and takes ownership of this issue. It is not an issue of if one bought a T-Mobile device or if it is an unlocked device. In reality it is the "uncarrier" that is disabling this ability.
OxygenOS 10.0.2
OxygenOS 10.0.2 Brings Bug Fixes For The 7 Pro But T-Mobile probably won't have Android 10 for the OnePlus 7 Pro until Q1-2020. This is disappointing to some as many people enjoy the option to install beta software on their devices. But others, the other hand, don't mind waiting, as they believe the software will be near perfect if it takes a long time to be released. The truth is though, that software is never perfect, and being on later software isn't fun for people paying a premium for a device from a manufacturer that releases beta software to the public.
(Yes I know it's a whole different channel and situation but it's still disappointing)
Carrier Aggregation on the A20
Hi I was wondering if the A20 has 3xCA or not cuz there has been a couple of sources that state that it might have 3x CA but it's has been limited by firmware in other words Samsung or T mobile pretty much capped the true potencial of the phone and I was wondering why it doesn't make sense other than maybe costs tbh and still there is quite a few devices with more than 3xCA now so they don't got any excuse of costs or anything
Mobile Sidekick resurrection
After weeks of extensive research, troubleshooting and back and forth with customer service, on the mission to having my t-mobile sidekick 3 device alive again... i have come to narrowing it down to only being compatible with t-mobile sim cards that have "TM9260" written on it. These are 2-3 yr older nano sim cards. My main phone, iphone7 has a "TM9263" prepaid simcard and these new sim cards only operate on 3G and higher networks. Upon inserting it into the sidekick, the sidekick does not even acknowledge it has a sim card... ***please note to all other users with an old unlocked GSM device running on 2G network only "dumb phone"... you must have and older simcard in order to operate. ( interchangeable sim between both devices is a must...i need iPhone for gps/data when out and about...and dumb phone for call n text at home only -detox from smartphones- .... sidekick nostalgia and qwerty board is my go to).
With that said...is there anyway i can purchase a "TM9260" simcard and activate it with my current number? Speaking for weeks with t-mobile customer service, tech support and sales solved nothing. They have / had no clue on simcard numeration, codes, meanings, capacities, other then "post paid sim cards and prepaid sim cards are different"..... but can and will any of them jump on the soon to be terminated 2G network?
My boyfriends TM9260 sim card is prepaid and he's had it for a few years... it works in my sidekick! (i should have been tried that from the beginning!) i called to make a sim swap...give him my TM9263 sim and switch accounts and phone numbers, and despite customer service trying... bless her heart... apparently it could not be done due to outdated prepaid plans vs new prepaid plans??? yet we have the same prepaid plan. i am not yet ready to give up on my sidekick 3.
what can i do? please help?
Thanks all!
ApplePay
As you might know, Goldman Suchs announced if paying through ApplePay I can get 3% cash back, unfortunately today at 2 locations card reader did not work. Meaning, bank providing false information. It's ok, providing to the cashier physical card I will still get 1% cash back, but I guess this is not right. What if I was buying something expensive at t-mobile, the difference would be more between 1% and 3%. I think it should be fixed.
5G and grandfathered plans
Some of us have grandfathered plans that are no longer offered. Most if not all of them are 4G. What happens to these once 5G comes around as a mainstream network. Will these plans and the discounts we have be terminated in a move to switch to 5G?
T-Mobile One TE vs T-mobile One
Help me please! any one on this forum. there is a time some where in November 2016 (Black Friday Deal) that T-mobile roll out a plan tmobile one TE. it is hot deal i grab it on slickdeal.net that it post. so i have 5 line T-Mobile ONE™ TE includes unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited data on our network with no annual service contracts, or data overages for 120$, or you can get 4 lines depend on when you enrolled. its was instant hot deal.
So here story, now T-mobile charge with 120$ for 2 line unlimmited, and each one additional line is 25$ ( 75). The total is 195$, its big different. i did try customer service to explain but its useless. It's like "a little david versus Giant" now. i hope some one out there have similar situation like mine. And even worse now, every time you try to call customer service, they will try to make you get rid of the tmobile one TE plan and joint tmobile one TI plan. In my case TE is better deal for me. I hope T-mobile will honor the deal that they made and dont be like 24hr Fitness promise customer paid up front 600$ and after three year. 50$ per year for the REst of life. but they did not keep promise and raised the price to 100$ per year. i am trying my luck in the dark here if some one on same boat like me or some one have a better explain. Thank you

How do I get data in Montreal?
im on One Plus International but get zero data since ive arrived in Montreal (Canada). T mobile support has been useless - they suggested I reset network settings, which didn’t work, and then just say that they can’t help because there are no t mobile masts in Canada!

End of Lease turn-in
If you decide not to pay off and keep the phone it must be turned in at a T-Mobile store. You can then decide to start a new lease on a new phone or talk with our team about other upgrade options, such as EIP.
When you return a leased phone, it must be in good working condition. Make sure the phone:
- Has no cracks or other damage to the screen.
- Has not been damaged by exposure to liquid.
- Can power on.
- Has not been materially altered, this includes both the original hardware & software.
- Does not have activated anti-theft features, such as Find My iPhone.
To end your JOD lease before the 18-month lease term expires, there are a couple of choices:
- Turn in the phone at a retail location in good working condition and pay the full amount of the remaining monthly lease installments
or - Pay the remaining monthly lease installments plus the full Purchase Option Price (POP) as stated on your lease agreement and keep the phone.

Start Up Sound on Alcatel tablet
Is there any way to silence the loud and annoying T-Mobile jingle when I turn on my Alcatel tablet? I tried the Silent Boot app but it did not stop it. Comes on twice every time I turn on the tablet. There are places where i cannot use it without angering someone. Library and morning train are definitely not places you want stupid jingles sounding. I have all the tablet sounds and ringtones silenced.
Band 71
With 5g coming on 600mhz, will that mean that 4g lte will not be on band 71 anymore? My area didn’t have coverage till band 71. And, my phone isn’t 5g capable. So, if band 71 is taken by 5g, does that mean no coverage for me again?

Upgrade Support Charge?
Has anyone been charged or know what an "Upgrade Support Charge" is when buying a phone from a T-Mobile store? I was charged this fee of $20 when I recently bought a Galaxy S7. I will admit I should have looked more closely at the paperwork given to me AFTER everything was completed, but the rep casually mentioned it, charged my credit card, and then gave me the paperwork. I guess I was thinking it was an initial $20 towards the phone, as I've never been charged any additional amount on top of a phone when purchasing and I've been with TMO for almost 15 years.
