I just bought a prepaid plan, with a sim card (Its a bring your own device), and when I finished setting it up, I tried to message some one with it. But for some reason, it tells me: "Free Msg: Unable to send message - Message Blocking is active". I don't remember enabling this. so I decided to do some research on how to disable it. I can't even access my services to disable it! I need help because I need to start using this phone ASAP!
How do you disable message blocking?
Cant stream video on Youtube, Facebook, or Chrome
Hi,
I have an M9 Bought it cash, brand new from the T-mobile store about 3 months ago. Love the phone it's great. It's never been dropped, never been in water. And worked flawless till this month. I switched to the simple choice plan for $65 a month for binge on when I bought the device. I have 6gb of data per month. Last month I used all my data, and was waiting for the billing cycle to renew so I could watch my videos again. My cycle renewed on the 6th of this month, and since then I cannot stream videos on fb, youtube, or chrome. So these are the steps I have taken so far:
1. Powered down my phone, and restarted
2. Uninstalled all updates and reinstalled, after I checked to see if the base version would fix the problem.
3. Cleared all app cache, and wiped cache partition on the phone.
4. Ran speed test and the download speeds are where they should be, I can download apps and files just fine.
5. Called customer support they said they were having issues with a tower in my area, and that it should be resolved in 3 days.
6. Called back 4 days later because the problem still existed, the customer service rep said she would contact and engineer and call me back withing 24 hours.
7. They called me back and asked if it still had the same issue, which it did, the customer service rep told me that it was network congestion and credited 10 dollars to my account for the inconvenience.
Its now been 7 days since my cycle started, I STILL cannot stream video, I want a solution to this problem because what is the point of paying for a service if it doesn't work properly. I decided to make a post here to see if anyone in the community had any insight and could help me fix my issue. Thanks in advance!
I need to have my bill fixed!
I'm being charged again for something I've already paid off. I've the credit card statements to prove I paid for it. The EIP breakdown on My T-Mobile page also says this is paid off. What do I need to do to fix it? I refuse to pay for the item twice. Really irritated. I drive by T-Mobile Headquarters (my mother even worked there back when T-mobile was Western Wireless) every day so I can give the phone and everything back in person if this can't be fixed.
EIP Billing- Incompetence or a scam for more revenue?
I like my TMobile, been with them and their previous iterations for over 15 years. All that being said, whoever setup the EIP billing should be sent away for remedial common sense training.
When I drill down into my bill to make an additional EIP payment, those funds draft from my account immediately, but then TMobile applies those funds to my overall account balance. So then I pay the balance indicated and wind up not paying it in full, triggering a seemingly inflated balance later and late charges.
I've read several threads on this and responses from t Mobile reps. The gist of that is that is this:
Starting bill due $200
Extra EIP payment made mid-cycle $100
Bill amount online showing due becomes $100
Customer pays bill shown due $100
Next thing, the account is late and the next payment due is now $300 plus late charges
So the advice tmobile gives is that when you make extra payments on EIP, you have to remember that payment amount and then add that amount to the balance that tmobile tells you is due, otherwise your account will be overdue and incur late charges.
I'd love for tmobile to weigh in on this. Is this just very poor designing on the part of tmobile, or a scheme to generste revenue due to confusion. Judging from other customer comments, I am sure tmobile revenue has increased quite a bit since they started the EIP payment plan.
Tmobile has totally separated the section for EIP balances, but why they have to over-complicate things by applying it to account balances generating erroneous billing notices is beyond me.
Headphone Jack Doesn't Work
I just received my Note 5 about three days ago. Today is the first time I tried to listen to music with it. The headphone jack doesn't work. I've tried SIX different pairs of headsets, including the one that came with the phone. The jack feels loose, like the headset plug doesn't fit snugly. There's no snap/click like you usually feel when plugging in a headset. When I plug in the headset, the music continues to come out through the phone's speakers. With one headset if I pushed down really hard on the plug, the sound would momentarily come through the headset.
Has anybody else experienced this? Is it fixable? I'd hate to have to send back an otherwise perfectly working phone for a defective headphone jack.
Thanks in advance!
Poor coverage at Washington College, Chestertown, MD
My son will be attending Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland. The T-Mobile signal is very poor or not at all. He is using an Apple IPhone 6 Plus. If signal cannot be improved he will be forced to switch to either Sprint or Verizon which are rip-offs.
How do I fix Alcatel ONETOUCH Fierce XL (Windows 10) from freezing?
My wife has an Alcatel ONETOUCH Fierce XL with Windows 10 and it keeps freezing or going blank. It normally does this anytime we go to play a video. It might play a video through, but on some it just goes black and just keeps playing the audio part of the video along with the sounds of any notifications. When this happens we can't do anything to it to get the screen back on except to hard re-start it by holding down all the buttons. She's only had this phone a couple of months since her Lumia 925 broke. Any ideas on how to fix this or what to do? Is this likely a phone problem or an operation system problem?
My Nokia 925 with Windows 8.1 works flawlessly. But I'm getting messages from some apps that I'll also need to update soon to Windows 10 in order to keep the apps updated. But the Nokia Lumia 925 won't get the Windows 10 update. So it looks like my only option on T-Mobile is the Alcatel for myself, just like my wife. But I don't want to get one if there's no way of fixing this. We really don't want to get AppleID or Google accounts when all our apps, paid for and not, are already on Microsoft.
Help! and thanks!
Lifetime Coverage Guarantee
As of September 25, 2015, you can try out the T-Mobile network risk-free with our 30-day, money-back Lifetime Coverage Guarantee™. A similar program, the T-Mobile Test Drive, is being phased out so you can take advantage of the improved benefits of this offer when you get an eligible device through JUMP! On Demand™.
How it works
To take advantage of this offer, you'll first need to activate or upgrade to any device with JUMP! On Demand.
Next, give the T-Mobile network a try using your new JUMP! On Demand device. If you're not satisfied with your T-Mobile coverage and you signed up through JUMP! On Demand, and:
If it has been within the first 30 days of service
You can simply return your device. You'll receive a full refund on your service and device cost, with no strings attached.
If it has been more than the first 30 days of service or after the first full bill has been paid
You can get a refund for your current month of service and we'll unlock your device to take it with you.
IMPORTANT: If you decide to cancel your service, you must notify T-Mobile and request an unlock before transferring or porting your number to another carrier.
You can also keep your JUMP! On Demand lease payments, even if you switch to another carrier.
Note: If there was any promotional pricing attached with your device and you decide to leave T-Mobile, that promotional pricing stops, which will result in an increase in the amount of your monthly payments.
Things you should know if you decide to leave
We'll be sorry to see you go, but if you find that T-Mobile's coverage is not for you, here are the things you need to think about when cancelling coverage.
- You must notify T-Mobile and request an unlock before transferring or porting your number to another carrier. This ensures that your monthly JUMP! On Demand payments will continue. If you cancel before letting us know, the entire balance for your JUMP! On Demand device will be due, and we won't be able to reset it back to monthly payments.
- If you cancel T-Mobile service before activating the Lifetime Coverage Guarantee and request your device to be unlocked, you won't be able to take advantage of the offer.
- No fees associated with start up at another carrier are covered by T-Mobile.
- T-Mobile will refund your SIM starter kit cost, and you won't be charged a restocking fee.
- You're responsible for any charges relating to third-party services, incremental services, or features that you've added to your phone.
- If you didn't initially sign up for Premium Handset Protection (PHP), you can still sign up for PHP at the time of cancellation, and without a three-point inspection. Just let us know when you call customer service or when you visit one of our retail locations.
Availability
The Lifetime Coverage Guarantee is available to new and existing T-Mobile customers, as well as T-Mobile employees who sign up for JUMP! On Demand with eligible devices.
The benefits of the guarantee are good for as long as you're making your monthly device payments with T-Mobile for the life of that phone.
Here's where you can go to take advantage of this offer:
- For a new activation, visit a T-Mobile retail location.
- For upgrades, you can visit a T-Mobile retail location or call T-Mobile Customer Service.
Not available to customers in Puerto Rico or through third-party retailers.

T-Mobile coverage map guide
Learn about the T-Mobile coverage map.T-Mobile is changing the game by displaying maps that truly represent the expected network experience based on real customer data.
The current industry standard uses estimates to approximate network experience, which only shows carrier's coverage maps as a rosy picture and leaves users skeptical. Because of this, you rely on firsthand information like word of mouth, social media, or your own speed tests to try to figure it out yourself.
What are typical indoor connectivity levels?
Descriptions | Coverage Pop Up Description (Typical Indoor Connectivity) |
No Coverage | N/A |

How the coverage map works
T-Mobile is layering real customer data on top of its existing coverage map. We'll be able to show you the median download LTE speed tests results where enough data points have been collected in the last 90 days. You'll also now be able see the technology footprint in a given area without having to enter a specific location/address.

Verification of coverage | Anonymous data from customers' Android devices (>200M per day) is captured daily. |

Map details
- When an area shows as Verified Coverage, a hexagonal icon appears, which means the vast number of connections are successful at the posted speed in that area. Information on connections in a given area is not always available and not all customers will get this posted speed for the area.
- If the map does not show Verified Coverage, this just means that there is no Verified Coverage in that area based on customer data. The area still has the level of the coverage shown in the map (4GLTE, 4G, 3G etc.). Currently, we are only collecting data from Android devices from customers who have agreed to share their data with T-Mobile.
- The map displays 4GLTE/4G/3G/2G map indicators These indicate the speed customers receive with 4GLTE being the fastest and most robust and 2G the slowest.
- The 4GLTE Device Compatibility icon means your device may not be compatible with our 4GLTE Network. Users should click this icon to see their device options. If the icon does not appear, the customer's device is compatible with our 4GLTE Network.

The coverage pop-up will display more details specific to typical indoor connectivity in most big buildings and homes, and can even suggest indoor coverage solutions for better connectivity.

S5 After Marshmallow update: Unfortunately, Messages has stopped
I updated my S5 Marshmallow last week. Since then, apparently my text messages no longer work. When one comes in, I get the dreaded, "Unfortunately, Messages has stopped" error and I don't receive anything new. I can open the app and look at old messages. I didn't realize this was happening until last night, so I have no idea how many texts I've missed.
I reset the cache/data, rebooted, tried making another program the default message app... none worked. I see others with this problem here and I guess this is just a "me too."
I won't be resetting my phone back to factory or wiping it completely. I'm almost due for a new phone, so if that is the cure, I'll move everything (phone/carrier) to escape the problems. I've had to suffer TERRIBLE indoor data reception indoors when not on WIFI for the entire time I've had it due to the spectrum/band issue (both of our S5's do this all over Dallas) and I'm nearing the end of all my wits.

Can't receive MMS
I recently did a system update (I think I finally upgraded to lolipop) and since then have not bee able to get any MMS. A box comes up in my messages for me to download a photo and after hitting it, it does not download. I have had some problem sending pictures but after trying 2 or 3 times they always send. No matter what I change in my settings or how many times I restart my phone the MMS won't download. I've read on here in other questions that changing the APN can help but I have no idea what to change it to. I'm extremely frustrated with this situation.
Two questions in one: International Travel and my login on this site
Question 1: International Travel - I have a prepaid plan. When I travel to England I need to contact the airport pickup service that I arrived. Can I use text or voice to do this once I'm on the ground? Will my phone connect up? (I assume it makes sense to not connect to the internet.)
Question 2: Login on this site - I have two other logins/emails that no longer work. Can I get them removed?

New Nexus 5x

Moto G (4th generation) - No service
I just bought a new Moto G (4th generation) phone yesterday. I inserted the sim correctly and purchased the $30 a month plan. The website I bought it from says that it is fully compatible with T-mobile: Amazon.com: Moto G (4th Generation) - Black - 16 GB - Unlocked - Prime Exclusive - with Lockscreen Offers & Ads: Cell Ph…
However, I am getting no service, not even 1 bar. When I try to make a phone call it says cellular network not available for voice calls. I tried doing everything on the support page about turning off airplane mode and wifi and resetting your phone. I also made sure my data is enabled, and I made sure my phone's software is up to date. I tries manually and automatically selecting my network carrier, I messed around with the APNs, I reset my phone back to factory default, I switched to 3g and 2g and reset my phone. I entered my address in your coverage map and it says I should get a fair signal and 4g is available to me. I'm not sure what to do now, please help.
USB Settings Gone?
Hey, guys. So I'm having a bit of an issue. I accidentally changed my USB settings to charge only from the pull down notification bar and now I can't find the USB Settings and change it back to Media Sync. Anyone know where they are on 5.0.2?
