GPS stopped working after marshmallow update

$
0
0

So I recently did the update to Marshmallow on my LG G Stylo, and ever since then my GPS isn't working at all. When I use maps I can see the device pick up my location (probably through Wi-Fi or cell towers), but it doesn't track my drive like it used to. I even tried GPS Toolbox from the App store (this used to help me out on some other device) but with no luck.

Anything else I can look at doing?

TMO @Home vs LineLink?

$

I'm a long time TMO@Home user and have just come across the new TMOLineLink service and want to know if anyone has any feedback on the newer service?  I'm pretty happy with TMO@Home, but would really love to get rid of the old TMO@Home router...plus if the router goes, there apparently aren't replacements and have more clear calls.  My present system seems to be quite unstable now that I have a Comcast router and I drop calls, they bug out during calls, and all kinds of other annoyances.  I use it as a business line, so it's important it is more reliable than it has been in the past 3-6 mos.

That said, in my brief investigation, it looks like TMOLineLink does not have call waiting or caller id, is that correct?  Also, from the only other discussion in this area, there seems to be other issues like call forwarding codes (??) and caller id names?  I've been with TMO for 14 years and tried to call in to get some info, but got transferred 3 times and it doesn't seem like reps know much about this product.  Is there a special number to call?

Any feedback would be appreciated.  I'd hate to move away from something I know works, even if sometimes unreliable, to something that I don't know and it be worse.

Thanks!

Problem resetting iPhone 6+ in Hong Kong

I’m a US T-mobile customer visiting Hong Kong for a couple of weeks.

A couple of days ago my iPhone 6 Plus started freezing. The touch screen was not responding. This started to happen more and more frequently.

I went to the Apple store. After testing my phone the Apple store genius suggested that I reset my phone using iTunes on my computer.

Now, as I am resetting my phone I am getting the following message:

The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
The SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information.

When I switched from AT&T to T-mobile about a month ago the T-mobile employee told me that my phone was already unlocked.

Please advise.

Can anyone tell me why all of a sudden my OK Google does not say anything?  When I say "OK Google" I hear the beep, the app opens, I ask it a question like what is the weather.  IT use to actually say what the weather was, now it says nothing, just brings it up on the screen.  The app works just all of a sudden no voice.  My volumn and media volumn at max, it beeps but then nothing, any help?

Visual Voicemail keeps disabling by itself

Since PG1 (then latest update) my Visual Voicemail continues to randomly disable itself. I have to keep opening the app and turning it back on. It's becoming a pain in the but I prefer visual voicemail over regular. Anyone else have this issue?

Steps I've taking to help:

Closed all apps

Ran smart manager

Cleared system cache

Cleared system cache partition

Cleared both T-Mobile and Visual Voicemail app data and restarted. If it comes down to it, I will fdr but at this point I'm not ready to commit to doing that.

Adding a third line to my current simple choice plan w/two lines question

I currently have a simple choice plan w/ two lines (unlimited talk, text & 2GB).  I'm considering adding my Mother (believe it or not she's never had a cell phone) for the additional $10 third line.  My question is, can she port her current land line number?  Note that she lives in a different state so are there any rules of her having to have my area code or her having to live at my same address or anything else that would prohibit what I'm considering?  Thanks in advance.

Need suggestion for a phone for my elderly Mother

Are "flip phones" (or even bar phones if available) still reliable and do they sound good?  I finally convinced my 76 year-old Mother to cut-the-landline-cord but she says she wants an easy-to-use most-straight forward to use phone there is.  She doesn't use data and probably won't text.  She doesn't use a computer either, she just wants to use it for making/receiving voice calls.  Any good suggestions for basic phones would be appreciated from our community, thanks.

What you should know about Amazon's streaming partners

Amazon Video is now a Binge On video streaming participant. Some additional video streaming services—such as Showtime and Starz—have partnered with Amazon to stream through the Amazon app. Streaming content through these services while using the Amazon Video app or website will continue to provide you with the same great free video streaming offered by Binge On for eligible customers.

Video streaming from non-Binge On content providers

When Binge on is enabled, only video streaming from participating video content providers doesn’t count against your high-speed data bucket. Video streaming from non-participating video content providers, and data used to load and browse content on streaming provider apps and websites are still deducted from your high-speed data bucket, but at a slower rate, stretching your high-speed data up to 3 times longer. When Binge On is enabled, all detectable video streaming (from participating services and others) is optimized to DVD-quality (typically 480p or better).

Binge On while tethering

Tethering means sharing the 4G LTE mobile internet connection from your smartphone, tablet, or mobile internet device with another device, like a laptop or tablet. Streaming video from included Binge On participants never touches your high-speed data allotment if you're tethering from a smartphone, tablet, or mobile internet device to a laptop, desktop, tablet, or handset. Other devices aren't currently supported.

SMS messages from AT&T customers

$

I am having a heck of a time with getting SMS messages from AT&T customers (I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+).  Here what I see so far, there is one that I get all the messages from no problem (he is using an apple).  From another AT&T customer I get maybe 1 message out of every 15 to 20,  This particular one is the important one where I NEED get them, as he is the Deployment Team Lead (over me) where I work, he is on a Government AT&T blackberry and his personal AT&T iPhone, this has already caused me trouble at work 2 times, I am being encouraged right now to switch to AT&T so I can get the messages from those above me, but I don't want to leave T-Moble

My question is as since I want to stay with T-Mobile (been with T-Mo since 2003) is there anything I can do to make sure I get these messages, as they are critical to my job at the agency when I am out of the office and now on 24/7 on-call (I don't mind that I get 0 signal when I am at my cube at work I can live with that, but the big issue is when I do not get the SMS messages from those that I must 100% get messages from, especially when some of them are from the web health system)

Finally I should note I have no problem getting SMS from Verizon or Sprint.

I have no service in my room down stairs

I love T-Mobile except for the fact that I have no service what so ever in my room or anywhere down stairs in my home, I hate telling people to message me on Facebook because I have no service in my room, is there anything T-Mobile can do so I can have service in my room downstairs?

Is Binge On compatible with Xbox One?

$

Hello. First, thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

I have a ZTE mobile hotspot which has the Binge On feature. My Xbox One connects to the ZTE and I use it to watch many different streaming services that are on the Binge On list. These include YouTube, Netflix, and the newly added Crunchyroll. I have read conflicting opinions on whether or not the Xbox One works with Binge On, with peoplen saying it works, doesn't work, and sometimes works.

So to summarize, I just want a definitive answer on if i can stream all the video I want on the Xbox One.

Thanks again.
