Hello... I just got my new Samsung Samsung Galaxy J7 and I'm trying to set it up. The sim card will NOT fit in the slot! Please help. I looked up a video on how to insert it but it just will not slide in. I've had MANY Galaxy phones... never had a problem like this before.  I tried the one from my old phone 1st - because it has all my contacts on it, etc. That wouldn't fit. Then I tried the new one - that didn't fit either. They're both the same size.

I sent that message to T-Mobile's FB messages page and they told me to come here for help... Anyone?  Did they send me the wrong sim card size???

Pawbo

I am unable to connect to the Pawbo in my home on the T-Mobile LTE network via the Pawbo app. I have a company phone that works off the Verizon network and it works just fine on their LTE network. From what I'm reading is that T-Mobile blocks these types of apps? Pawbo is a camera in my house that I can watch my pets while I'm at work. Why would this be blocked?

I need to have my bill fixed!

I'm being charged again for something I've already paid off. I've the credit card statements to prove I paid for it. The EIP breakdown on My T-Mobile page also says this is paid off. What do I need to do to fix it? I refuse to pay for the item twice. Really irritated. I drive by T-Mobile Headquarters (my mother even worked there back when T-mobile was Western Wireless) every day so I can give the phone and everything back in person if this can't be fixed.

i cracked my glass back and recently had it replaced. The only issue is the back glass he ordered wasn't an official t-mobile back, all it says is samsung instead of all of the extra information on the bottom. If i go to trade it in when the new iphone comes out will i run into any issues? I asked him and he said no it shouldn't be a problem as long as it was not broken, but i just want to make sure he was right.

Router placement

Place your wireless router in a centralized area to provide maximum wireless coverage.

To prevent signal loss or interference, keep your router away from:

  • Devices using 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz or devices that use Wi-Fi frequencies like Bluetooth devices and cordless phones
  • Appliances like microwave ovens or refrigerators
  • Direct sunlight or fluorescent lights
  • Industrial equipment like transformers or heavy-duty motors

First-time setup

  1. If you already have a Wi-Fi router, unplug its Ethernet connection to your modem.
  2. Attach the three antennas to the top of your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
  3. Plug one end of the included Ethernet cable into the modem.
  4. Plug the other end into the blue port on the back of the router.
  5. Unplug power to your modem for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  6. Plug the power cord into your router.
  7. Wait about one minute until the blue indicator lights on router are solid. Once the blue lights are solid, your network is set up and the router is ready to use.

Connect to the router from your phone

  1. On your phone, turn on Wi-Fi. For steps, check the how-to guides for your device on the Phones page.
  2. Select one of the T-Mobile Wi-Fi networks:
    • CellSpot_2.4GHz_(4-digit ID)
    • CellSpot_5GHz_(4-digit ID)
  3. Enter the password found on the white sticker on the back of your router.
  4. Update the network name and password on all of your existing computer components (computers, tablets, etc.).

Add the router to an existing network

You can replace your previous router with the Wi-Fi CellSpot Router by matching your CellSpot Wi-Fi network name and password to your former network.

To add the router to an existing network:

  1. Make sure you're connected to your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
  2. Enter http://cellspot.router in your phone’s web browser. The default username is admin and password is password.
    • From the General Tab, select the CellSpot_5GHz_(4-digit  ID) and change it to your previous network name.
    • Update the WPA Pre-Shared Key to your previous network password.
    • Click Apply.

Putting a modem/router into bridge mode

Bridging is the act of connecting two or more networks together to exchange information. Bridging a modem/router can help alleviate network conflicts.

    • To bridge a modem/router combo, turn off the Wi-Fi on the modem/router. Contact your Internet service provider (ISP) if you need assistance.
    • Some ISPs require bridging before you can use your CellSpot Router. If you are unsure if your ISP requires or supports bridging, please contact them for assistance.
    • Some ISPs (e.g., Comcast) don't allow the user to turn on bridge mode without contacting them first.

Set up a cascading network with the router

Follow these steps if you have a modem/router combo unit or do not want to change network names on your existing equipment.

To set up a cascading network with the router:

    1. If you have a Wi-Fi router, unplug its Ethernet connection to your modem.
    2. Attach the three antennas to the top of your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    3. Plug one end of the included blue Ethernet cable into the modem.
    4. Plug the other end into the blue port on the back of the Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    5. Plug in the power cord to your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    6. Wait about one minute until the blue indicator lights on the Wi-Fi CellSpot Router are solid.
    7. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the yellow internet port and the other to the modem port on your existing router.

    Change the network name (SSID)

    1. Connect to your Wi-Fi CellSpot Router.
    2. Enter http://cellspot.router in your phone’s web browser. The default username is admin and password is password.
    3. From the General Tab, select the CellSpot_5GHz_(4-digit  ID) and change it to a desired name.
    4. Update the WPA Pre-Shared Key to your previous network password.
    5. Click Apply.
    6. Reconnect devices to the Wi-Fi network. Remember to use the 2.4GHz band if connecting existing devices (printers, cameras, etc.).

    T-Mobile coverage map guide

    0

Learn about the T-Mobile coverage map.T-Mobile is changing the game by displaying maps that truly represent the expected network experience based on real customer data.

The current industry standard uses estimates to approximate network experience, which only shows carrier's coverage maps as a rosy picture and leaves users skeptical. Because of this, you rely on firsthand information like word of mouth, social media, or your own speed tests to try to figure it out yourself.

    How the coverage map works

T-Mobile is layering real customer data on top of its existing coverage map. We'll be able to show you the median download LTE speed tests results where enough data points have been collected in the last 90 days. You'll also now be able see the technology footprint in a given area without having to enter a specific location/address.

    TypeAction
Verification of coverageAnonymous data from customers' Android devices (>200M per day) is captured daily.
    Ookla Speedtest scores
    • Speed tests are all driven from Ookla data (speedtest.net).
    • T-Mobile only displays speed tests completed in the past 90 days (for 4G LTE only).
    • A rolling 90-day calendar of speed test data ensures the most up-to-date and accurate results driven by real-time customer data.

    Map details

    Mapping elements.png

    • When an area shows as Verified Coverage, a hexagonal icon appears, which means the vast number of connections are successful at the posted speed in that area. Information on connections in a given area is not always available and not all customers will get this posted speed for the area.
    • If the map does not show Verified Coverage, this just means that there is no Verified Coverage in that area based on customer data. The area still has the level of the coverage shown in the map (4GLTE, 4G, 3G etc.).  Currently, we are only collecting data from Android devices from customers who have agreed to share their data with T-Mobile.
    • The map displays 4GLTE/4G/3G/2G map indicators These indicate the speed customers receive with 4GLTE being the fastest and most robust and 2G the slowest.
    • The 4GLTE Device Compatibility icon means your device may not be compatible with our 4GLTE Network. Users should click this icon to see their device options. If the icon does not appear, the customer's device is compatible with our 4GLTE Network.
    • Click any area on the map to see a pop-up that displays more details specific to typical indoor connectivity in most big buildings and homes, and can even suggest indoor coverage solutions for better connectivity.

HTC One m8 bricked after marshmallow

After my HTC One M8 updated to marshmallow there was what seemed like a cascading failure over a period of a few weeks. First little things started happening: apps and processes (including settings app and system ui) would randomly crash, forcing me to reboot. Then my phone started randomly rebooting, it wouldn't stay on for no longer  than a few minutes to hours without rebooting. After doing some research I rebooted into recovery mode and wiped the cache partition. When wiping the partition didn't work as planned (I was however able to get back into settings without it crashing) I tried a factory reset from within settings. After the reset the phone would get stuck on the startup screen and I'd have to force restart several times before I could get passed the htc screen. After I got the phone on again google play store was crashing almost immediately after starting the app, so I ended up finding the apk files I needed to update the play store and services. No help there. I figured that rooting might be my only option, but when I plugged into my PC the phone would freeze and is once again have to force reboot. I decided I would try a factory reset in recovery mode. After this last factory reset the phone attempted to restart but never turned back on. I figured maybe the battery was dead but after plugging into the charger it wouldn't respond in any way {no lighted LED to indicate charging, no response when using the power/volume button. My phone was working perfectly before Marshmallow, and considering that we haven't even finished paying for the phone yet and certainly can't afford a new one I have no option but to fix this phone or go without. Going without would mean I wouldn't even be able to access emergency services of needed. Has anyone else had similar issues that were resolved or any suggestions of how to proceed from here? I've tried everything I could to no avail, so any help or information would be appreciated immensely.

Troubleshooting broken Tmobile service, phone says disconnected, no phone number displayed on SIM (recurring problem)

    $

I have tried sorting this out through calling up customer service and going through technical support but the people who are paid to read of scripts cannot help me and tell me it's a known issue that they are planning to solve but I know this is just a diversion tactic to get me off the line for a temporary time.

Main issues - SIM card is not displaying my phone number (Phone number displays as 000000000000)

    Mobile network state is disconnected.

    Service state- In service

I recently paid off my full phone bill and they still cannot reconnect my phone. There is a bigger problem with the SIM card not even displaying my phone number which it should. I have visited the branch multiple times just to be given repeated SIM cards that do not even display my phone number and nothing seems to work.

    What I have tried through technical support;

Turning on airplane mode and back off.

Searching for mobile networks and choosing one, turning phone off and on again.

Phone still displays NO phone number and is disconnected.

How can i actually solve this problem when they have no solutions. They tell me i cannot be reimbursed for a faulty service and they cannot do anything until they fix the problem (which doesn't exist).

The last update had the same problem.  Message is "Insufficient space to download: 13.7MB".  There is of course, 393MB available.  What are the plans to fix this?  I'm not comfortable being told every day there's a security update available that I'm not able to install.

My DataStash total has not been updated since March.  Every month, I have leftover data that is not being deposited.  I'm wondering if others are having the same problem.  I log into my t-mobile account and under "My Current Plan" it shows only 3.2GB when there should be about 6.16GB, with the difference coming from carryovers from May, June and July.
